Job Description

Tesla seeks an Electrical Engineer with at least one year of experience in electric motor powertrain modeling and optimization. The role involves designing next-generation motors and actuators, developing advanced Matlab functions for motor and powertrain performance modeling, enhancing motor system optimization functions, improving simulation tools, processing big data, and visualizing results. Responsibilities include designing motors for traction or auxiliary systems, developing and optimizing Matlab functions for performance modeling, and improving existing simulation tools. The position requires strong mathematical and physics backgrounds, proficiency in Matlab, experience with Finite Element Method (FEM) analysis of electric motors, and understanding of optimization algorithms. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of electromagnetics, electric circuits, thermal and mechanical modeling, and experience with power electronics and control systems.

Must have:

1+ year experience in motor modeling
Strong Matlab programming skills
FEM experience with electric motors
Electromagnetics & circuit understanding
Thermal & mechanical modeling knowledge
Optimization algorithm understanding

Good to have:

Power electronics & control fundamentals
Powertrain architecture & vehicle dynamics knowledge
Experience modeling losses in electrical machines
Numerical optimization & multi-objective visualization

What to Expect

Tesla is seeking an Electrical Engineer with minimum 1 year of experience to work towards modeling and optimization of electric motor powertrains. This person will be working as part of the Tesla motor technology team located in Athens, Greece, towards improving motor modeling and system optimization tools.

Ο υποψήφιος θα εργάζεται με την ομάδα ανάπτυξης τεχνολογίας ηλεκτρικών μηχανών στην Αθήνα, Ελλάδα, προς υψηλότερης ακρίβειας μοντελοποίηση ηλεκτρικών μηχανών και βελτιστοποίηση του κινητήριου συστήματος.

What You’ll Do

Design next gen motors & actuators for traction applications or auxiliary systems.
Responsible for developing advanced Matlab functions to model motor and powertrain performance.
Develop new and enhance existing motor system optimization functions based on multiple criteria.
Improve existing drive unit & powertrain simulation tools & apps.
Process big data, select the most compelling candidates and visualize the results.

Υπεύθυνη/ος για την ανάπτυξη προχωρημένων συναρτήσεων σε περιβάλλον MATLAB για την μοντελοποίηση της επίδοσης ηλεκτρικών μηχανών και συστημάτων κίνησης.
Ανάπτυξη νέων και βελτιστοποίηση υπαρχόντων συναρτήσεων πολυκριτηριακής βελτιστοποίησης κινητήριων συστημάτων.
Βελτιστοποίηση υπαρχόντων εργαλείων μοντελοποίησης του κινητήριου συστήματος.
Επεξεργασία Big Data, επιλογή των βέλτιστων και αποτύπωση των αποτελεσμάτων.

What You’ll Bring

Fluency in English.
Studies in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Strong mathematical and physics background.
Very good understanding of electromagnetics and electric circuits.
Very good understanding of thermal and mechanical modeling.
Strong Matlab programming skills.
Experience analyzing electric motors using Finite Element Method.
Understanding of optimization algorithms.

The following will be considered as plus:

· Electrical machines, power electronics and control fundamentals.

· Understanding of powertrain architecture & vehicle dynamics.

· Experience with modeling losses in electrical machines.

· Experience with numerical optimization and visualization of multi-objective tradeoffs.

Άριστη γνώση της αγγλικής γλώσσας.
Σπουδές ηλεκτρολόγου ή μηχανολόγου μηχανικού.
Εξαιρετικό υπόβαθρο μαθηματικών και φυσικής.
Πολύ καλή κατανόηση Ηλεκτρομαγνητισμού και ηλεκτρικών κυκλωμάτων.
Πολύ καλή κατανόηση θερμικής και μηχανικής μοντελοποίησης.
Εξαιρετικές δεξιότητες προγραμματισμού σε περιβάλλον MATLAB.
Εμπειρία στη μοντελοποίηση ηλεκτρικών μηχανών με μεθόδους πεπερασμένων στοιχείων.
Κατανόηση βασικών αρχών βελτιστοποίησης.

Επιθυμητά προσόντα:

· Γνώση της λειτουργίας ηλεκτρικών μηχανών, ηλεκτρονικών ισχύος και βασικές αρχές θεωρίας ελέγχου.

· Κατανόηση της αρχιτεκτονικής του κινητηρίου συστήματος ενός οχήματος καθώς και της δυναμικής του συμπεριφοράς.

· Εμπειρία στη μοντελοποίηση απωλειών σε ηλεκτρικές μηχανές.

· Εμπειρία στην αριθμητική βελτιστοποίηση και οπτικοποίηση πολυκριτηριακων προβλημάτων.
