Activision's Central Tech seeks an Expert Cinematics Engineer to design cutting-edge cinematic experiences for Call of Duty titles. Responsibilities include collaborating with content and engineering teams across studios, developing robust synchronization solutions for single and multiplayer environments, providing support and developing new features across tools, pipelines, and engine code, and collaborating with engineering departments to maximize visual and audio fidelity. The role demands 7+ years of game development experience, strong C/C++ skills, and experience working within large teams and complex codebases. A keen interest in game animation or cinematic systems is crucial.

Comprised of seven main teams, we have many specialties including big data, privacy and security, motion capture and animation pipeline technologies, graphics, build and infrastructure for studio development and data centers, optimization, systems programming and online services including matchmaking and networking. What you bring to the table

We are looking for an Expert Cinematics Engineer with an eye for detail and passion for helping to build the technology behind our biggest games. This is a great opportunity to work alongside some of the most forward-looking technologists in the industry, and to be part of a team that defines and shapes the technology of our upcoming Call of Duty titles.

As such, the duties and responsibilities of this role may be changed as directed by the Company at any time to promote and support our business and relationships with industry partners. ​This role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

  • Engage with content and engineering teams across our studios to deliver cutting-edge cinematic experiences for our games.
  • Develop robust solutions for synchronization of cinematics in both single and multi-player game environments.
  • Provide support and new feature development across tools, pipeline and engine code.
  • Collaborate with different engineering departments to target the highest possible visual and audio fidelity.

Player Profile

Experience

  • 7+ years of game development experience.
  • Experience working as part of a large team within a complex codebase.

Knowledge & Skills

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent C/C++ programming, debugging and optimization skills.

Key Attributes

  • Experience working as part of a large team within a complex codebase.
  • Keen interest in, or direct experience working on, game animation or cinematics systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $121,500.00 - $224,880.00 Annual. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. Your Talent Professional can share this role’s range details for your local geography during the hiring process. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. While we strive to provide competitive offers to successful candidates, new hire compensation is negotiable.
