Studio Soi is working on an animated feature film that combines real photographed miniature sets with 3D animation. We are looking for experienced model makers and junior artists for our workshop. The setbuilding department will be led by Klaus Morschheuser who previously worked on a number of TV shows and short films, including
The Gruffalo, Room on the Broom and (as director)
Trudes Tier.
We are looking for people with various crafting skills including:
* Set Building
* Set Dressing
* Scenic Painting
* Model / Prop making
The Project
The film is based on a German picture book and is aimed at younger children as well as families. The world we are creating is an inviting, colourful environment with different locations. It will require varying moods and landscapes. There will be fluffy forrests, rocky plains and psychedelic
swamps.
The setbuilding team will work closely with design, light and camera department and 3D layout to achieve a unique and imaginitive environment for the funny, charming characters.
General Conditions
We are offering a full-time role (Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day), for a fixed term of at least six months. The first team is scheduled to begin in October 2024.
We are looking for people who can work on-site in Ludwigsburg, Germany. In this role, remote work will not be possible.
Studio Soi has a long tradition of working with teams from various countries, backgrounds and cultures. We are looking forward to welcoming new artists in to our studio and to working with them. Very good language skills in either English or German are a must to communicate efficently and to avoid accidents in the workshop.

Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for candidates who enjoy working in a team, and prioritise focus on detail and precise crafting. While imaginative solutions will be required, it will also be crucial to work exactly according to the designs and 3D blueprintst, so the other departments can rely on the workshop’s assets on set.
Our ideal candidate is self-motivated and takes pride in their work, is able to handle responsibilities independently when needed, but is also comfortable following direction when the project calls for it. We're seeking team players who want to contribute towards a positive working environment.
