Job Description

As a Senior Systems Software Developer at QNX, you will be a key member of the global Engineering team, collaborating with Automotive & OEM customers. Your role involves creating software solutions emphasizing reuse, efficiency, and simplicity. You will work on product performance, problem-solving, and system design, developing custom software based on customer requirements. Addressing complex technical issues and creating prototype systems are also integral aspects of this role. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic environment.
Must have:
  • Bachelor’s in Electronics, Computer Science, or related field
  • Familiarity with QNX, Linux, or UNIX-like systems
  • Programming experience in C and scripting
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Eagerness to learn and solve problems
  • High degree of motivation and teamwork skills
  • Advanced level of English
  • Able to conduct business in Japanese language
Good to have:
  • Experience with performance, memory, and postmortem analysis
  • Experience with safety systems
  • Knowledge of Python

In this role, you will:

  • Work with global customers regarding product performance, problems and system design.
  • Investigate difficult and complex product problems by applying knowledge of design principles, procedures and practices.
  • Develop custom software solutions based on customer requirements.
  • Address escalations to troubleshoot complex technical problems and help drive teams to discover causes and appropriate remedial actions.
  • Develop prototype and demonstration systems as technology samples for customer use as needed / appropriate.
  • Ensures compliance to workplace operating and environmental, health and safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Provide on-site consulting services as needed / appropriate

You will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer Science, or similar fields in the technology space, or meaningful relevant experience
  • Familiarity with QNX, Linux or other UNIX-like / POSIX compliant operating systems
  • Programming experience in C and scripting
  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • An eagerness to learn and solve problems with solutions focused around simplicity & efficiency
  • High degree of motivation and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Advanced level of English
  • Able to conduct business in Japanese language

Additional Assets: 

  • Experience with performance, memory, and postmortem analysis.
  • Experience with safety systems.
  • Knowledge of Python.
