Examples of tasks you will work on as part of the team
Delivery and review of client engagements
Exercising effective communication and relationship-building skills
Manage all legal aspects of real estate transactions, including inter alia property acquisitions, leases, sales, financing and development projects
Conduct comprehensive due diligence on real estate properties, analyzing property reports, surveys, zoning regulations, environmental assessments and other relevant documents to identify potential legal risks and ensure legal compliance
Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of real-estate related agreements
Work closely with the members of the team to manage, support and execute fast paced legal work;
Be involved in complicated projects with multiple stakeholders and legal considerations and produce solid legal analyses and advice in a clear and concise manner;
Run title searches or monitor our external partners producing title search results, and draft findings reports in a clear, concise manner that our clients, often unfamiliar with the Greek real estate environment, may follow through and comprehend;
Take the lead, manage and execute real estate sales and acquisitions and real estate asset transfers in a wide array of scale and characteristics, in close cooperation with our Private Clients and Family Businesses teams, as well as our Corporate, M&A and Tourism & Hospitality teams;
Work closely with our Insolvency & Corporate Recovery team and our Banking & Finance Team in due diligence exercises and/or complex restructuring cases, where ranking of collateral, cross-collateralization and security structures are critical;
Support the projects’ legal management (monitor progress of the projects, coordinate between client, counter-party and other advisors, provide guidance on project implementation, monitor and verify quality of deliverables from external parties);
Manage client engagements including preparing proposals, reports and other documents using the technological tools and platforms of PwC;
Interface with various legal practices in the broader Legal team;
Cooperate with PwC’s other capabilities, such as Tax, Financial Advisory, Real Estate Advisory and Deals Advisory, with a business oriented and results driven approach;
Develop business relationships with PwC teams and clients;
Collaborate in a team-oriented environment, develop innovative approaches to solving challenges.
What we are looking for
3-5 years of experience in Greek real estate law (RE sales & acquisitions, encumbering & collateralization, and leases and/or similar arrangements, due diligence and title searches); breadth and diversity of assets in terms of scale and typology will be considered an asset, and so will any experience in construction, development and/or facilities management contracts;
Bachelor degree in Law (from a domestic university or equivalent certification from the pertinent Greek organisations);
Master’s degree (LL M or similar title) from an international institution will be considered a strong asset;
Admission to Athens Bar or other Lawyers’ Bar in Greece;
Willingness to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in multiple assignments;
Excellent legal and business analytical skills;
Positivity, motivation and strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to express ideas verbally and in writing, in a clear, concise and professional manner, (both in English and Greek);
Military services fulfilled.
