The Award-Winning team at SIDE UK is looking for a passionate Senior Audio Designer to join our crew. SIDE has been producing best-in-class game audio for over 25 years and built an enviable portfolio and brand. Recent hit releases SIDE have provided dialogue services for include Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Hitman III, Returnal, It Takes Two and more.

As a Senior Audio Designer at SIDE, you play a crucial role in creating, developing, and implementing high-quality audio content for our projects. This individual is responsible for leading sound design efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring that all audio elements enhance the overall user experience and align with the project’s creative vision.

  • Develop audio styles and themes that enhance the narrative and emotional impact of the project.
  • Own, and deliver to large areas of the project’s audio experience with minimal direction
  • Create and implement original sound effects, ambience, and audio assets that align with the client’s vision.
  • Record, edit, and mix audio content to ensure high-quality sound production.
  • Design dynamic mixing hierarchies and audio systems.
  • Work closely with management to help define and realise the project audio direction
  • Lead and mentor sound designers, providing guidance and feedback to develop their skills and ensure consistency in audio quality.
  • Collaborate with music composers to integrate music with sound effects seamlessly.
  • Implement sound assets in audio middleware such as Wwise, FMOD and game engines like Unreal, Unity. 
  • Ensure audio assets are optimized for various platforms and delivery formats.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues during the production process.
  • Manage audio schedules and deadlines to ensure timely delivery of audio assets.
  • Maintain clear documentation of audio processes and assets for future reference.
  • Design and edit sound assets for use in games and trailers, in respect to the style and project’s creative direction.
  • Working collaboratively, attending meetings with the team and external partners. 

Requirements

  • Experience in game/film sound design, ideally in AAA game titles.
  • Wide experience of implementing sound into games using various game development tools, pipelines, and technology
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in supporting, and mentoring team members
  • High level of proficiency with audio software (e.g., Cubase, Pro Tools, Reaper, Soundly) and audio middleware
  • Broad experience with abstract sound design, cinematic SFX and immersive character sound (dialogues and foley)
  • Solid recording skills for SFX and Foley in studio and external environments
  • Able to work closely with other disciplines in the development team to improve workflows and achieve the vision for the game.
