You will also manage relationships with various stakeholders, including government departments and external vendors, to ensure project delivery and contractual obligations are met.

  • Professional certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) is desirable.

The Senior Business Analyst will assist customers in achieving strategic objectives by analysing complex business problems and opportunities, generating critical insights, and making data-driven recommendations to support informed decision-making and strategic planning. This role will leverage analytical expertise to identify trends, evaluate potential solutions, and drive actionable outcomes. Additionally, the Senior Business Analyst will collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and project objectives while enhancing digital health experiences for all.

The Senior Business Analyst plays a crucial role in driving informed decision-making and enhancing business processes.

Analysis and Recommendations

  • Lead the analysis of complex business problems and opportunities, providing insights and recommendations to drive informed decision-making and strategic planning.

  • Define business problems, propose practical solutions, and effectively present these to both internal and external stakeholders, including government departments.

  • Collate, analyse, and interpret data to provide actionable insights and recommendations, supporting data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

  • Support project management activities by providing expert analysis and recommendations, contributing to project planning, execution, and evaluation.

  • Present recommendations to stakeholders to facilitate decision-making.

  • Identify gaps in proposed solutions and facilitate the remediation of those issues.

Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and project objectives.

  • Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit and validate business requirements, ensuring that all stakeholder needs are understood and addressed.

  • Work directly with clinical stakeholders to understand operational and care delivery processes and ensure alignment with proposed solutions.

  • Manage relationships with Government Departments, external consultants, and vendors, overseeing the delivery of projects and services as well as ensuring that contractual obligations are met.

  • Create detailed reports and documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and project status to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment.

  • Provide technical guidance and support for junior team members.

  • Prepare clear, concise documents, reports, and presentations that translate complex business problems, analysis, and insights into simple, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.

  • Plan and facilitate workshops and discussions with stakeholders to ensure alignment, gather feedback, and support informed decision-making on critical business needs, opportunities, and solutions.

Best Practice and Measuring Performance

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive business process models, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance business analysis techniques and methodologies.

About you

To be successful in the role, you'll bring skills and experience in:

  • Extensive experience in business analysis roles, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and delivering actionable insights.

  • Experience working as a Business Analyst on projects delivering health-based services for government departments.

  • Demonstrated ability to define problems, develop solutions, and effectively communicate them to both internal stakeholders and external government contacts.

  • Experience working with clinical stakeholders and understanding their operational environments.

  • Experience in gathering, documenting, and analysing business requirements, with a focus on aligning solutions with organisational objectives.

  • Experience in presenting complex problems to stakeholders at all levels of the business.

  • Experience working with Government Departments.

  • Experience in the Health Technology field.

  • Strong background in process creation and improvement and data analysis, demonstrating the ability to drive efficiency and effectiveness in business operations.

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • Certifications: Professional certification in Business Analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA) is desirable.

  • Education: Advanced coursework or training in data analysis, process improvement, or project management is desirable.

  • Investigates complex and ambiguous business situations, adopting a holistic view to identify problems and opportunities.

  • Contributes to selecting appropriate analysis approaches and techniques, conducting root cause analysis, and making improvement recommendations.

  • Engages and collaborates with operational stakeholders to gather insights and validate findings.

Feasibility Assessment

  • Selects and applies relevant feasibility assessment techniques to identify possible options.

  • Undertakes short-listing and evaluates options, engaging with internal and external stakeholders to gather necessary information.

  • Supports business case preparation, including cost/benefit analyses and risk assessments for each option.

Requirements Definition and Management

  • Defines, manages, and prioritises scoping and requirements activities for medium-sized initiatives.

  • Facilitates stakeholder input, challenges assumptions constructively, and enables effective prioritisation.

  • Establishes requirements baselines, secures formal agreement, and ensures traceability to original sources.

Acceptance Testing

  • Develops acceptance criteria for functional and non- functional requirements, ensuring alignment with business processes and rules.

  • Designs, specifies, and executes test cases to validate that systems and products meet acceptance criteria.

  • Collaborates with project teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and analyses test results, reporting on issues and risks.

Data Modelling and Design

  • Investigates enterprise data requirements with a focus on complexity and ambiguity.

  • Plans and executes data modelling activities, selecting appropriate techniques and detail levels to meet objectives.

  • Provides guidance on data structures and associated components to colleagues.

Methods and Tools

  • Advises on the adoption of methods and tools, ensuring compliance with policies and standards.

  • Tailors processes based on standards and evaluates methods for effectiveness.

  • Reviews and enhances the application of methods and tools to improve overall effectiveness.
