The Senior Cloud Researcher brings an innovative mind to leverage cloud technologies to solve novel and new challenges. This person has extensive experience prototyping and owning highly complex technical tasks, using cloud technologies and architecture to prove major value. This person understands foundational cloud architecture, orchestration, remote rendering, and automation of cloud and infrastructure-focused workflows. This person also understands spatial computing workflows (using AI to generate and work with 3D content and assets in virtual environments) and microservices-style development and deployment in order to create modular scalable software solutions.  

 

This person should have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology (or related field) with at least 10+ years experience in cloud computing technologies and should have a passion for product development. This role will communicate daily with the CTO and Senior Program Manager. 

 

Technology Capabilities and Experience 

This person will have the following experience: 

  • Proficiency in cloud platforms and services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with a focus on compute, storage, networking, and security services. 
  • Experience architecting and deploying cloud solutions for real-time data processing, remote rendering and streaming, and interactive applications, preferably in the spatial computing or gaming industry. 
  • Strong understanding and skills for implementation of cloud-native architectures, including deploying microservices, containers, and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes. 
  • Understanding and focus on cloud cost analysis and on-demand scaling 
  • Knowledge of spatial computing platforms and technologies, such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), mixed reality (MR), and their integration with cloud services. 
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and configuration management tools. 
  • Experience with cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption, network security, and compliance frameworks. 

 

Nice to have:  

  • Understanding of NVIDIA Omniverse (Kit Extensions, RTX, Microservices, Python, C++) 
  • Experience with render streaming and cloud GPU VMs 
  • Understanding of Universal Scene Description (OpenUSD) (specifically Asset Resolver and cloud services)

This individual will contribute to programs associated or directly with the United States government. This role is required to be a US citizen and must be able to pass a background check.
