Description

Title: Senior Combat/Encounter Designer - Contract

Location: Remote

Join our dynamic team at PTW/Ghostpunch Games as a Senior Combat/Encounter Designer, where you will be tasked with creating engaging and immersive combat experiences for our co-development client. In this long-term contract position, you will collaborate closely with designers, artists, and programmers to develop compelling gameplay mechanics and encounters that enhance player engagement.

Requirements

  • Experience in game design with a focus on combat and encounter design, preferably in AAA titles.
  • Create and drive player combat moves, systems, and tools from initial design through implementation, iteration, and completion
  • Create and maintain complex state machine and behavior tree scripting architectures for characters
  • Strong understanding of gameplay mechanics and level design principles.
  • Ability to create and iterate on engaging combat scenarios that balance challenge and player enjoyment.
  • Proficiency in design documentation and visual scripting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A portfolio showcasing your experience and expertise in combat/encounter design.
  • Knowledge of current trends in gaming and a passion for creating unforgettable gaming experiences.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of creativity and attention to detail.
