Job Description

Google Meet is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build and enhance video quality using AI/ML. Responsibilities include understanding perceived video quality, developing ML models for video enhancements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and integrating video processing solutions into production. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of software development experience, 3+ years in ML infrastructure, and experience with testing and launching software products. Strong C++ skills are required. Experience in audio processing, video streaming, and Python are preferred.

Must have:

5+ years software development experience
3+ years ML infrastructure experience
Experience testing & launching software
Modern C++ development
Data structures & algorithms expertise
Develop ML models for video enhancement
Collaborate with cross-functional teams

Good to have:

Audio processing/Echo cancellation
Video streaming experience
Python coding skills

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
3 years of experience with Machine Learning (ML) infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.
Experience in developing software systems in modern C++.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience in Audio processing/Echo cancellation/ or Video streaming.
Knowledge of coding with Python.

Responsibilities

Build a complete understanding of perceived video quality and identify opportunities for the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) to augment it.
Develop ML models and the application of AI for video quality enhancements.
Collaborate with cross-functional Meet Media teams (and external partners) for the integration of video processing solutions into production.
Leverage AI/ML technologies to enhance the video experience for millions of Meet users.
