Meet Our Team:
We are the Product Engineering group for Direct-2-Consumer business, and responsible for building video streaming Mobile & OTT applications for TVE/GO brands (18 in total!). Our front-end teams build user experience for search, catalogue, video streaming, personalization, subscriptions, payments & much more.
We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our Web HWA team. As a senior-most engineer directing this area, you will focus on the challenges of delivering web-based applications for Desktop, Mobile browsers, and Connected TVs (e.g., Samsung, Xbox). If you have a passion for how Web applications should be built, are interested in upcoming web standards, and care about making it easier to secure data and applications of all different sizes and types, we'd love to talk to you!
Roles & Responsibilities:
Build product features in close collaboration with product and business mandates
Contribute to the feature roadmap of the iOS ecosystem of devices
Advocate best practices for App development and also lay down best coding practices
Work with internal and external stakeholders in developing and designing the app.
Initiate, lead and execute work on proof of concepts and help identify the ways to scale/integrate them in the app
Own all aspects of the product development from concept, and drive it through development, testing, acceptance, adoption and iterative changes
Carry out engineering development with a strong focus on error handling, performance monitoring and metrics across the app. Some of the key metrics are Performance Uptime, Re-Buffering rates, Time Spent on the app, App Store Rating among other measures of product stability and excellence.
What to Bring:
5-8 years’ of iOS experience developing Mobile applications in Swift
Hands-on experience in building native mobile apps, Appstore submissions & Apple deployments.
Deep understanding of the nuances of the Apple ecosystem, different iOS versions of iOS, and how to effectively design & write code for a multitude of iOS, tvOS devices.
Experience building modular apps with principles such as TDD, dependency injection, CI/CD, automated testing and deep understanding of architectures/frameworks such as MVVM, VIPER
Familiar with Web Service Integration (REST, JSON) and REST concepts
Experience in DevOps/SRE practices such as CI/CD, performance monitoring & incident management
Strong computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
Self-confident self-starter – proactive in setting and meeting goals, with limited supervision
Good verbal & written communication skills
