Job Description

This role requires a Software Engineer with frontend expertise in network infrastructure. Responsibilities include developing backend technologies (C++ and Go), UI development using TypeScript, architecting and owning large UI components, communicating with internal users to meet UI requirements, and learning new networking products to develop features. The engineer will need to create responsive, well-tested, and maintainable modern UI applications and contribute to reshaping Google's software ecosystem. A strong understanding of data structures and algorithms is crucial. Experience with TypeScript is a must, excellent communication skills are preferred.

5+ years software development experience
TypeScript experience
UI development expertise
Data structures/algorithms knowledge
Backend development (C++/Go)

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
Experience in developing software applications using TypeScript.

Preferred qualifications:

Experience with TypeScript.
Excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will need to have User Interface (UI) experience. You will need to have a clear understanding of how to develop a responsive, well tested, maintainable, modern UI application, and plan on how to reshape Google's software ecosystem towards the end goal.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $161,000-$239,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

Develop backend technologies, as Google owns several of the backend team (which are implemented using a mix of C++ and Go).
Write code, mostly User Interface (UI) and backend code. Own a large, important UI and architect them.
Communicate with internal users, ensuring the UI fulfills their requirements.
Learn new networking products, understand their UI requirements, document them, and develop features in time for Google to launch those new products.
