Job Description

Google Cloud seeks a Software Engineer III, AI Infrastructure to design, develop, and maintain software components for AI lineage collection, processing, and analysis. This role involves analyzing AI workflows, identifying lineage data gaps, proposing solutions, and collaborating with other engineers. Responsibilities include developing tools for data summarization, visualization, and querying, contributing to scalable data pipelines, and participating in code reviews. The ideal candidate will have experience with ML infrastructure, data structures, algorithms, and programming languages like Python, Java, or C++. The position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and at least 2 years of software development experience.

Must have:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
2+ years software development experience
2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
1+ year experience with ML infrastructure
Experience with Python, Java, or C++

Good to have:

Master's/PhD in CS or related field
Experience with accessible technologies
Knowledge of graph algorithms and databases
Knowledge of data lineage concepts

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
1 year of experience with Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field.
1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging).
Experience programming in one or more of the following languages: Ruby, Python, Java, C++.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical fields.
Experience developing accessible technologies.
Experience with machine learning infrastructure and workflows.
Knowledge of graph algorithms and graph databases.
Knowledge of data lineage concepts.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $136,000-$200,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain software components for AI lineage collection, processing, and analysis.
Analyze AI workflows to identify gaps in lineage data and propose solutions.
Collaborate with engineers from other teams to integrate lineage collection into existing and new AI infrastructure.
Develop tools and systems to summarize, visualize, and query lineage data.
Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable and reliable data processing pipelines and participate in code reviews and contribute to improving engineering best practices.
