As a Software Engineer III, Full Stack, Core at Google, you'll work on critical projects, contributing to the technical foundation of Google's flagship products. Responsibilities include writing product/system development code, participating in design reviews, code reviews, contributing to documentation, and triaging/resolving product/system issues. You'll design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions across the full stack (back-end: Java, Python, GO, C++; front-end: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS). The Core team impacts important technical decisions across Google, building central solutions and breaking down technical barriers. Opportunities exist to switch teams and projects as you and the business grow.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years software development experience
  • 2+ years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • Full-stack development experience
  • Code writing, review, and debugging
Good to have:
  • Master's/PhD in CS or related field
  • Experience with accessible technologies
  • Experience with Java, Python, GO, C++, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with full stack development, across back-end such as Java, Python, GO, and/or C++ codebases, and front-end experience including JavaScript and/or TypeScript, HTML, CSS, etc.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
