What You’ll be Building

As a Chief of Staff at Yellow, you will be the force multiplier for the CEO, partnering directly with our founder/CEO on a day-to-day basis to support high-priority topics. You will proactively identify areas where you can step in to assist or independently manage tasks to alleviate the CEO’s workload. This role requires a love for complex problem-solving in high-stakes situations and the ability to handle a variety of tasks, from market analysis to reviewing legal documents to managing marketing campaigns. Your proactive nature, low ego, and high integrity will drive your success in this role.

In this role, you will have the exceptional opportunity to work closely with a serial entrepreneur who has successfully created and exited a company (Adio Inc, an AI/ML company sold to Target) and served as a senior product leader at Google. You will help bring cutting-edge AI enterprise products to market and support the CEO in creating several thriving and profitable businesses within Yellow.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy and Execution:

    • Partner with the CEO to manage high-priority initiatives and projects.

    • Identify areas where you can provide leverage or take over tasks to free up the CEO’s time.

    • Conduct deep market analysis for new markets or geographies and provide strategic insights.

    • Manage special projects and initiatives, ensuring timely and successful completion.

    • Work with external agencies and internal teams to execute marketing campaigns and other strategic initiatives.

  • Problem Solving and Adaptability:

    • Solve complex problems in high-stakes situations with minimal supervision.

    • Adapt quickly to unfamiliar settings and figure out solutions independently.

  • Proactive Initiative:

    • Spot issues proactively and develop plans and suggestions for improvement.

    • Lead and execute tasks without needing explicit delegation from the CEO.

  • Organizational Awareness:

    • Stay attuned to the organization’s strategy, vision, and roadmap.

    • Identify and address issues at their nascent stage before they escalate.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

    • Maintain clear and open communication with the CEO and other team members.

    • Ensure all communication loops are closed, especially when handling new tasks or projects.

  • Discretion and Professionalism:

    • Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.

    • Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.

  • Strong and intuitive understanding of the AI/ML space.

  • 1-3 years proven experience in a similar capacity, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly in new situations.

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of discretion and professionalism.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.

  • Experience in the fields of gaming, entertainment, special effects, or animation.

  • Deep understanding of AI/ML applications in media, entertainment, and gaming, particularly 3D design and animation.

  • Prior startup experience or evidence of building things from scratch.
