Your Team, Your Impact

As a Hardware Design Intern with Marvell Central Engineering business group, the candidate will be part of the printed circuit board (PCB) engineering team designing high speed boards for many different groups at Marvell.

What You Can Expect

You’ll be a member of the Central Engineering business group. If you picture Marvell as a wheel, Central Engineering is the center hub providing IP to be used by all the other spokes on that wheel, including Automotive, Storage, Security, and Networking.

And, you will be responsible for creating board design specification documents; for circuit design and component selection such as power supply, clock generators, CPLD/FPGA; for providing instruction and constraints to PCB Layout engineer; for creating gerber data and BOMs to suppliers; and driving PDR/FDR review meetings with cross functional teams; For new chip bring up testing; and for Comphy Test and measurement in the lab.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in the high speed board Design.
  • Experience in Orcad Schematic Capture, symbol creation, library management.
  • Experience in layout design using Cadence Allegro.
  • Experience working with substrate and PCB vendors.
  • Knowledgeable with PCB materials and stackup construction, PCB manufacturing processes and working with PCB fab vendors.
  • Knowledge with high speed probing, lab measurements and correlation of EM simulation with measurements.
  • Knowledge with Lab testing methodologies and procedures and proficient with lab test equipment, such as Real-time scope, PNA and BERT.
  • Knowledge with JEDEC and IPC standards for microelectronic assembly, and SMT assembly.
  • Knowledge with thermal and mechanical aspects of board design.
  • knowledge of EM, Transmission line theory fundamentals.
  • Must be self-motivated, be organized and good attention to details.
  • Have effective communication and presentation skills, and a team player.
