Microsoft's Cloud Supply Chain (CSCP) organization seeks a Hardware Engineering Program Manager to support its explosive growth. This role involves working with internal stakeholders to create building blocks, product Bill of Materials (BOM), and row-level hardware design documentation within a Product Data Management (PDM) tool. Responsibilities include ensuring design documentation conforms to Data Centre Infrastructure standards, reading hardware specification sheets, creating design structures and dashboards, following project schedules, developing product plans, communicating project status, documenting hardware details, and tracking design changes. The ideal candidate will have experience with enterprise-class servers and networking, data gathering and structuring in PDM systems, and interpreting hardware specifications. They will also assist in developing training materials, dashboards, and reports, contributing to program schedules, and resolving issues affecting downstream execution.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field

The Product Data Management Engineering Team is responsible for the design, implementation, and delivery of several Hardware offerings to support Azure technologies in Mission Critical Data Centers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, operations research, production engineering, or a related technical field.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Should have 3 to 5 years of work experience in the high-tech, electronics, or automobile industries, with at least 2 years of specialized technical experience in product engineering, New Product Development, with supply chain domain knowledge.

· Experience in continuous improvement using data leading to efforts savings / cycle time reductions / cost savings preferable

· Excellent communication and presentation skills

· Strong analytical skills and adept at using data for proactive problem-solving skills

· Must be comfortable working with ambiguity and demonstrate growth mindset to learn and embrace changes.

Responsibilities

You will ensure that the design documentation conforms to Data Centre Infrastructure standards. This role requires basic industry knowledge in PDME engineering domain. Reads hardware specification sheets to create robust design structures, and dashboards. Follows project schedule to deliver the hardware structure aspects of a product. Assists to help develop product plans and communicate status with team throughout the program. Documents details for a hardware, and tracks changes to designs.

 

Roles and responsibilities:

• Work with enterprise-class servers and networking to create product structure and bill of materials used to deploy hardware into Data Centre

• Assists in data gathering and product data structuring in PDM system using established criteria

• Reads specification sheets and interprets common details required to structure various hardware design

• Analyze and structure appropriate parts needed to support product development during NPI with hardware engineering team

• Implements and tracks product SKU release plans, under guidance from other engineers

• Assists in developing training materials, documents, and templates, under guidance from a manager

• Participates in the development of dashboards or reports for metrics

• Contributes to program schedule to deliver the engineering aspects and communicates project progress/status within the team and escalates issues as necessary.

• Assists opportunities that affect downstream execution to resolve issues

• Create, update, and maintain the design and supply chain characteristics using PDM system

Validate the configuration and work with the PDM hardware engineering team to resolve any issues through the PLM and workflow tools
