Job Details

Coactive makes it easy to search, filter, and analyze visual content. Increasingly image and video data captures the content we watch, the products we buy, and the work we do, and already represents 80% of internet traffic. But rather than being an asset, visual content is often a tax or even a liability because it is so hard to work with and understand. Coactive solves this by bringing structure to unstructured visual data. Rather than spending months (or years) building complex infrastructure, data teams can unlock the value of their visual data in minutes to power use cases such as content understanding and moderation, search, and analytics.

Coactive was founded by experts who shaped the fields of high-performance deep learning and data-centric AI. We have the scars from building and working with the first generation of modern machine learning systems at Google, Meta, Pinterest, eBay, Lyft, and other leading organizations. Through our decades of experience, we have developed a playbook to democratize the toughest parts of machine learning systems; no PhD required.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work with one of Forbes' top 50 AI companies, backed by key investors such as Andreesen Horowitz and Bessemer Ventures. This position is truly a chance to be part of a category-defining team that is attracting top-tier talent interested in pushing the boundaries of what's possible in AI.

To accomplish our goals, our team is seeking a dedicated and experienced IT Manager. In this role, as a full-time IT team member, you'll be presented a unique opportunity to contribute to the company's growth in terms of personnel and technological advancements.

What you’ll do:

Strategy: This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and implementing processes and technologies that support and strengthen our IT infrastructure. It goes beyond day-to-day operations by leveraging established frameworks and regulatory standards to build a solid foundation for our overall business systems. As a managerial position, you will take the lead in shaping a mission and vision centered on scalability, while also offering direct, hands-on support to meet the organization's evolving needs.

Execution: This role will lead the delivery of scalable, secure, and efficient technology solutions that drive business performance. It is responsible for planning, implementing, and optimizing IT systems and processes, with a strong focus on automation and seamless integrations across platforms to maximize operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute IT strategies that align with the organization's objectives, anticipating future needs and technology trends.
  • Infrastructure and Systems Management: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network infrastructure to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • System Integrations and Automation: Lead efforts to integrate internal systems and implement automation solutions that eliminate manual tasks and improve data flow across departments.
  • Onboarding/Offboarding Optimization: Continue to streamline employee lifecycle processes by automating user provisioning, access control, and deactivation to enhance security and reduce administrative overhead.
  • Solutions Implementation: Evaluate, upgrade, and deploy IT solutions that support evolving business requirements and enable productivity.
  • Security and Compliance: Enforce robust security practices and ensure all IT operations comply with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
  • Monitoring & Preventive Maintenance: Implement proactive monitoring tools and schedules to detect issues early and maintain system health.
  • Vendor and Asset Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors, including contract negotiations, service quality, budgeting, and asset tracking.
  • User Support and Troubleshooting: Provide timely and effective technical support, resolving issues to minimize downtime and maintain user satisfaction.

Collaboration: This role involves working closely with key departments across the organization to gather stakeholder requirements and define the scope of critical projects. Success in this position requires the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment driven by growth.

What we're looking for:

  • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience in a relevant field.
  • Deep expertise in IT systems, with at least 6 years of experience in IT support or IT management roles—preferably within start-up or mid-sized company environments.
  • Strong practical skills in designing, configuring, and troubleshooting network topologies and a firm understanding of firewall management and security best practices.
  • Experience managing Google Workspace, Mac devices, Okta,Kandji MDM, etc.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure; familiarity with DevOps or SecOps workflows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of NIST cybersecurity controls and frameworks.
  • Solid grasp of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements, including SOC 2 Type II.
