Location: This is a hybrid role, and you have the choice to work remotely from home, or join us in the office in central Brighton.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented Environment Artist to join our team, working on our flagship survival horror game, The Lost Wild. You'll be instrumental in defining the look and feel of our game and support our Environment Art pipeline. You will be working alongside world-class artists, designers and programmers to help bring our unique game world to life.
You'll be taking ownership of Environment Art throughout the whole game, and work closely with our Lead Environment Artist and the rest of the team to achieve our artistic vision for the game world. Your work will entail building stunning atmospheric outdoor and interior environments aiming for a moody hyper-realistic art style.
The Lost Wild features large natural terrains peppered with structural points of interest and indoor spaces. You should possess some level design sensibilities that align with these requirements, understanding how different spaces bleed together to support the wider gameplay and pacing from a design and AI perspective.
Creating high-quality assets for key locations within the game.
Heavily focused on landscapes, vegetation, and destroyed & overgrown architecture.
Taking block-outs from level design to final environments.
Set dressing and story-telling through environment art.
Building modular kits for rapid iteration of building structures.
Taking ownership of the environment art pipeline and working closely alongside our Art Director, 3D Artists, and Level Designers.
Working with Tech-Art to work on materials and optimisation for all assets used in the game.
Have a strong sense of time management and prioritisation. They will work alongside the production team to ensure that set goals are achieved within the specified scope, schedule, and artistic perspective.
Strong portfolio demonstrating a keen eye for realistic vegetation, organics, and ruined architecture.
Advanced knowledge of Unreal Engine 5.
A self-sufficient and proactive work ethic, with great verbal and written communication skills.
Strong working experience in Maya/3DS-Max, Z-Brush, Substance Suite & or Quixel tools.
Environment concepting experience.
Examples of strong 2D or fine-art skills
Worked on either a AAA, AA, or ‘Triple-I’ studio.
Experience with photogrammetry and using scanned assets in a production pipeline.
