Job Description
This Senior Systems Development Engineer role at Google involves managing large-scale services and systems, automating tasks, and developing tools to solve complex problems. Responsibilities include on-call duties, troubleshooting, developing system recommendations, working with customers on system requirements, designing and maintaining IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networking), and configuring network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with system automation, infrastructure management, Linux, coding (C, C++, Perl, TCL, or Python), and network administration. The role contributes to the operational efficiency of Google's systems and services.

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with systems automation, and with systems design and implementation.
- 5 years of experience with technical infrastructure (e.g., deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting), and with reliability of technical infrastructure.
- 5 years of System and Network Administration experience.
- 5 years of experience in coding with C, C++, Perl, TCL, or Python.
- 5 years of experience with the Linux operating system, and network administration.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience working with vendors or customers.
- Experience with Cloud computing environments (e.g., Google Compute Engine (GCE)).
- Experience with Linux or Linux Kernel.
- Experience with hardware emulation platforms (e.g., Cadence Palladium, Synopsys ZeBu)
- Knowledge of silicon design tools ang methods with FlexLM license servers.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Participate in on-call activities and manage the systems within the domain and work with the primary responders to help fix system issues.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, evaluate technical data, and develop recommendations for systems and services within the domain, respond to tickets/bugs within team-defined service-level objectives (SLOs), and contribute to systems and services in related domains through bug reports and consultation.
- Work with customers on defining distributed systems requirements, testing procedures, and proposing solutions.
- Design, implement, and maintain the IT infrastructure for the emulation datacenter, encompassing servers, storage, networking equipment, and workstations.
- Configure and support network infrastructure, including high-bandwidth switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers, ensuring optimal performance and security.
