Job Description:

PierSight Space is a young startup building world’s largest constellation of Synthetic Aperture Radar and AIS satellites for most extensive surveillance of oceans. The startup is backed by Institutional investors like Alphawave Global (Investor in SpaceX), Elevation Capital, All in Capital and Techstars (In collaboration with NASA and US Space Force).

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled FPGA Engineer to join our team. This role focuses on developing RTL code for SAR Radar payload. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of FPGA architecture, RTL coding, Testbench creation and hands-on experience with different FPGAs (Xilinx, Microchip).

Key Responsibilities:

• 3-6 years of hands-on experience in implementing designs on FPGA.
• Strong expertise in RTL coding of complex designs using Verilog/SV.
• Expertise in all aspects of FPGA design; constraint definition, synthesis, floor planning, P&R, Timing closure.
• Early architectural/performance exploration through micro-architectural definition and design.
• Optimize the design to meet power, performance, area and timing requirements.
• Run unit level testing to deliver quality code to the Design Verification Team.
• Create well written block level design documentation.
• Write testbench and sequences in SystemVerilog.
• Familiarity with lab equipment.
• Familiarity with interface protocols (PCIE, Ethernet).
• Knowledge of latest FPGA architectures and partitioning designs across multiple FPGAs.
• Exposure to scripting languages.

Preferred Experience:

• Hands on experience with FPGA design suite Libero.
• Tcl/perl/python scripting languages.
• Good hardware and software debugging skills.
• Experience running quality checks such as CDC.
• Experience in synthesis, static timing analysis.
• Experience with verification and UVM is added advantage.
• Experience with FPGA Hardware design is added advantage.

Gaurav Seth, with a BTech in Engineering Physics from IIST and a tenure of 8 years at ISRO, has been instrumental in the design and execution of five interplanetary and earth observation missions. His remarkable achievements include the development of India's first airborne foliage penetration synthetic aperture radar, showcasing his innovative contributions to the field of remote sensing technology.

Vinit Bansal, is the CTO and Co-Founder of PierSight Space. He is a graduate in Electronics from BITS-Pilani and has spent 9 years at National Instruments building Test and Prototyping solutions for Space and Defence Industry. While working at National Instruments he worked closely with Indian Space Research Organisation and Ministry of Defence - India and contributed to multiple Space and Defence projects.
