Description

What We Are Looking For:

The Technical Animator is responsible for creating and implementing animation systems and tools for use in a game development environment using Unreal Engine 5. They will work closely with the animation team and other departments to ensure that animations are integrated seamlessly into the game and meet the needs of the project. 

Requirements

What We Will Do Together:

  • Develop and maintain animation systems and tools for use in Unreal Engine 5, including editor blueprints and scripts using a scripting language such as Python or C#
  • Collaborate with the animation team and other departments to ensure animation systems meet project requirements.
  • Comfortable with Blueprints, Animation Blueprints and Unreal Animation system
  • Experience with Setting up Ragdoll Physics, Creating UE Procedural Control Rigs and with other ABP dynamic nodes
  • Work with the animation team to troubleshoot and debug animation issues.
  • Ensure that animation assets meet technical requirements and are optimized for performance.
  • Experience with control rig is a plus.

What you will bring

  • Strong understanding of Unreal Engine 5 and its animation capabilities
  • Can prototype and problem solve challenging dynamic character features.
  • Experience with animation blueprints, state machines, and other animation systems in Unreal Engine 5
  • Strong understanding of rigging, skinning, and other animation techniques
  • Experience with animation optimization and troubleshooting
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with other departments.
  • Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python or C#
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role in the game industry
  • A portfolio demonstrating relevant experience.
  • Intermediate in Maya rigging.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5 control rig is a plus.
  • Experience with other game engines is a plus.
