Job Description

As a UI Designer, you will be designing player-focused UI solutions, developing user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that are highly functional, easy to navigate, and visually engaging. You will need to balance functionality and aesthetics to ensure that UI design aligns with gameplay mechanics and enhances the player experience. You'll be leading cross-functional collaborations with UX designers, game designers, and developers. You will also ensure technical implementation readiness by partnering with engineering teams. In addition, you will create and maintain detailed design documentation and style guides.
Must have:
  • 3+ years of game UI design experience.
  • Advanced design skills.
  • Expertise in Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop & Illustrator or similar tools.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine.
  • Ability to write UI logic using a scripting language.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and manage feedback.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Proficiency in using 3D software like Cinema 4d, Blender, 3DS Max etc.
  • Passion for innovative UI and modern UI trends.
  • Knowledge of the Cyberpunk genre.

Job Description

CD PROJEKT RED is looking for a UI Designer to join the team for the next game in the Cyberpunk universe. This role will blend the creative and functional sides of UI design, focusing on developing intuitive, player-centric interfaces that elevate gameplay and immersion. Join CD PROJEKT RED in shaping a world where UI design not only complements gameplay but transforms it. Bring your creativity to help build an immersive player experience for Cyberpunk 2.

Daily responsibilities

  • Design player-focused UI solutions, develop user flows, wireframes, and prototypes that are highly functional, easy to navigate, and visually engaging.
  • Balance functionality and aesthetics to ensure that UI design aligns with gameplay mechanics and enhances the player experience, by maintaining a consistent visual language.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration: work closely with UX designers, game designers, and developers to ensure that UI design supports gameplay goals and technical feasibility.
  • Drive innovation in interaction design.
  • Ensure technical implementation readiness.
  • Partner with engineering teams to oversee the implementation of UI designs and troubleshoot any integration challenges.
  • Create and maintain detailed design documentation and style guides to facilitate clear communication across the development team.

Qualifications

  • At least 3+ years of experience in game UI design. 
  • Advanced design skills. 
  • Expertise in using design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop & Illustrator, or similar, for wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.
  • Experience with Unreal Engine: understanding of UI implementation, blueprints, and materials and familiarity with how UI integrates into gameplay.
  • Ability to write UI logic using a scripting language.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to clearly present ideas, lead discussions, and manage feedback constructively.
  • Excellent communication skills: we have a multilingual and multicultural working environment and the ability to communicate across language and time zone barriers is essential.

 

Candidates should include a portfolio in their application.

Nice to Haves:

  • Proficiency in using 3D software like Cinema 4d, Blender, 3DS Max etc.
  • Passion for innovative UI, insight into modern UI trends in games and a keen interest in pushing creative boundaries.

Additional Information

This job requires working in Boston, US.
Working mode: in-office in a hybrid or full-time capacity.
