Job Description
As a Game Design Lead, you will develop and communicate the overall game design vision and strategy for the company's portfolio of large-scale multiplayer games. This involves leading and managing a team of game designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback. You will collaborate with other departments, oversee design documentation, create engaging gameplay mechanics, design immersive game worlds, develop progression systems, implement game modes, ensure a user-friendly interface, drive monetization strategies, establish design processes, iterate on design based on feedback, and stay updated on industry trends. The role requires balancing creative vision with business objectives and technical constraints.
Must have:
- Understanding of game design principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of 3D multiplayer genre trends and mechanics.
- Proficiency in game design tools and documentation software.
- Familiarity with game development engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate the overall game design vision and strategy for the company's portfolio of large-scale multiplayer games.
- Lead and manage a team of game designers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with other departments, including art, programming, and product management, to ensure the game design aligns with the project goals and business objectives.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of game design documentation, such as game design documents, pitch decks, and feature specifications.
- Design engaging and balanced gameplay mechanics, including weapons, abilities, movement, and combat systems.
- Create immersive and cohesive game worlds, including level design, environmental storytelling, and world-building.
- Develop and balance in-game progression systems, such as player leveling, unlocks, and rewards.
- Design and implement various game modes and competitive multiplayer experiences.
- Ensure that the game's user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) are intuitive, visually appealing, and optimized for player engagement.
- Drive the development and implementation of monetization strategies, in-game economy balancing, and retention mechanics.
- Establish and maintain design processes, best practices, and quality standards within the game design team.
- Continuously iterate on game design based on player feedback, analytics, and performance metrics.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest game design trends, tools, and technologies, and advocate for their adoption within the company.
Skill sets:
