Position Overview

The Workplace Operations Manager is a full-time, onsite position based at Autodesk’s San Francisco office, and reports to our Senior Regional Workplace Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring that the workplace upholds world-class standards in organization, experience, aesthetics, and sustainable operations. The role focuses on managing and optimizing the workplace environment to enhance employee experience and engagement. 

As the Workplace Operations Manager, you will oversee daily workplace operations, collaborating with employees and cross-functional stakeholders. Additionally, you will serve as the primary point of contact for building maintenance issues and lead a team of Workplace coordinators, reception team, building engineer, and external third-party partners. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Ensure operational excellence by bringing strong expertise in workplace and facility management, maintaining a positive, innovative, and approachable demeanor, delivering exceptional customer service, and fostering best in class employee experience

  • Oversee the comprehensive daily workplace operations at the San Francisco One Market, 300 Mission, and Pier 9 offices, encompassing the management of critical building infrastructure and services. Responsibilities include coordinating equipment maintenance programs, overseeing HVAC systems, building automation, and electrical safety

  • Support and facilitate the logistics for on-site events, including AV, event space configuration, and safety standards

  • Responsible for advocating local priorities to internal Workplace partners, while collaborating with global project teams, workplace technology, real estate, and other departments to ensure strategies and programs are tailored for the needs of San Francisco

  • Utilize data, analytical capabilities, and workplace technology to evaluate operational efficiency and effectiveness. Create strategic plans informed by analytics to drive targeted business outcomes and enhance operational performance

  • Responsible for regularly communicating with employees about building-related news and updates. This includes sharing timely information about maintenance activities, safety protocols, changes in building policies, new amenities, and any upcoming events that may affect daily operations

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Workplace staff responsible for overseeing daily workplace operations and ensuring an excellent employee experience

  • Foster strong collaboration and coordination with other Workplace managers, including those in Meetings & Events, Engineering Services, AV Support, the landlord, Technology (ESE) and service providers

  • Oversee service contracts with a focus on effective delivery, cost efficiency, addressing evolving needs, conducting regular vendor reviews on a quarterly basis, managing RFP processes, and ensuring continuous operational excellence

  • Budgeting & Financial Oversight: develop and manage the workplace operating and capital budget for the properties, including forecasting maintenance plans, expenses, and cost control measures

  • Develop and maintain standards and processes while supporting and facilitating the hybrid first work strategy to ensure effective operational continuity across different work arrangements

  • Demonstrate a desire to remain close to the business to understand the impact of an exceptional workplace experience . Proactively reach out to people at all levels of the organization to get their feedback, understand the needs, and complete projects on time and within budget

 

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of experience and education; 10+ years of experience in facilities and/or building management 

  • 4+ years prior experience managing people

  • Superior understanding of construction schedules, facility operations, technology, furniture, fixtures, and equipment 

  • Facilities management credentials (IFMA/BOMI) a plus

  • Hospitality experience a plus

  • Highly adaptable, comfortable with change and ambiguity, capable of quickly rallying teams and resources

  • Financial analysis and budgeting skills related to project management and facilities operations

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong presentation skills

  • Promote and exhibit the highest level of professionalism and great work ethic

  • Ability to work with all levels of employees and external vendors

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications (esp. PowerPoint and Excel)

  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and manage competing priorities

  • Ability to think strategically to analyze the needs of the business and define solutions

  • Ability to navigate between strategic work and tactical execution

  • The ideal candidate excels in a fast-paced work environment, proactively identifies issues, and takes charge without constant supervision, all while displaying a positive work ethic

  • Open-mindedness and a collaborative spirit

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $107,900 and $174,570. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
