Avalanche Studios Group is hiring a Senior World Designer to join their Stockholm team. You'll be responsible for designing, building, and iterating the game world, including all its layers. Must-haves include expertise in World Design, experience with 3rd party tools like world creator, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Details
We're currently looking for a skilled and creative Senior World Designer, to join our team at Avalanche Studios Group in Stockholm!
As a Senior World Designer, you will work as a designer mastering all aspects of World Design, such as designing, building, and iterating the world with all its layers. And are responsible for recommending improvements to the entire World Design workflow pipeline. Collaborate with designers, animators, and programmers to bring innovative features and the game vision to life for an enhanced player experience.
What you'll do?
- Anticipate issues and recommend solutions/best practices.
- Think long-term and take a broad perspective to identify solutions.
- Work closely with Lead and Teams to understand the game and its needs, constraints, and intentions to design adapted solutions to realize the project's vision.
- Understand how your decisions connect to the business and how it successfully improves the final product.
- Combine all aspects of World Design to bring the best representation of the game vision.
- Understand opportunities and limitations for what the engine can produce.
- Work in a development environment with shared tools and pipelines and contribute with continuous improvement suggestions to our shared tech.
- Providing support and guidance to the teams.
Who you are?
- You are recognized as an expert in the World Design area within the organization.
- You have specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise in the World Design discipline, such as all its layers: world, biomes, landmarks, locations, roads, and rivers.
- You should be able to work with other disciplines and also independently.
- You have experience in owning and leading the development of entire features.
- You focus on the execution of complex design tasks and or contribute to several aspects of the project.
- Experience with 3rd party tools and software like world creator.
- You conduct yourself professionally by representing company values and code of conduct with high integrity.
- You are a role model guiding designers to create World Designs according to best practices.
The Stockholm location
Our Stockholm office is situated in Södermalm, the beating heart of the city’s game industry. It’s a physical representation of our games – the lush vegetation of Just Cause and theHunter: Call of the Wild meets corroded metal straight out of Mad Max. It has everything you need to make it your creative base camp.
