This is a fully remote, full-time employee position for individuals residing anywhere in Ireland.
We're VOID Interactive, the kickass team behind the best-selling FPS game, Ready or Not. We're made up of some seriously talented individuals who love games and creating awesome content together. We’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Animator to join us remotely and help us elevate Ready or Not to new heights. Our goal is strong: to establish Ready or Not as the quintessential FPS of our time.
As an Animator, you play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of our animation projects, particularly those involving motion capture. You will collaborate closely with fellow animators, artists, programmers and project managers to ensure that animations meet the highest standards of quality and creativity.
In this role, you'll be in charge of:
- Troubleshooting and resolution of issues related to motion capture data, such as marker occlusion or tracking errors.
- Optimisation of motion capture workflows to meet project milestones and deadlines, including data cleanup and retargeting processes.
- Collaborating closely with animation and development teams to integrate motion capture data into animation pipelines.
- Implement effective solutions and contingency plans to address motion capture-related risks or challenges.
- Maintain strict adherence to project specifications and standards, ensuring the highest quality motion capture animations.
- Identify areas for optimisation and efficiency improvements within the motion capture animation process.
- Foster a collaborative working environment by sharing knowledge and insights with colleagues.
Here’s what you'll be bringing to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in animation or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience animating inside MotionBuilder.
- Proven experience with Maya for 3D animation, particularly in creating and refining animations
- Proficiency in animation software and tools beyond MotionBuilder and Maya is a plus.
- Experience with first person perspective animations for in game weapons, is essential.
- Strong proficiency in body and facial animation techniques.
- Familiarity with working with motion capture data is preferable.
- Experience receiving and implementing constructive feedback to improve animations.
- Gameplay experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated ability to work on complex animation projects.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a creative approach to animation challenges.
- Passion for animation with a keen eye for detail and quality.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, remote environment with tight deadlines.
- Ability to effectively document and communicate animation processes and workflows.
