About the job

SummaryBy Outscal

Lead and create motion graphics, animations & UI motion systems for digital products. Collaborate with design & engineering teams to deliver high-quality work. Experience with UI motion in launched products and strong communication skills are essential.

Work & Co, part of Accenture Song, is a global design and technology company with offices in the United States, Europe, and Latin America. We're known for uniting the industry’s best hands-on strategy, product and technical talent to generate tangible impact at scale. Client partners include IKEA, Apple, PGA TOUR, Gatorade, Google, Mercedes, Givenchy, the MTA and more.  As Fast Company noted, our engineering and design teams are routinely entrusted with creating digital products for companies which rarely approach outside firms. Forrester Research calls our approach “a model to follow.”

As a Motion Associate Design Director, you will partner with Design Directors to create a large variety of content and experiences. You not only lead projects, you participate in a hands-on manner to create them. You will have the opportunity to work on large and small-scale projects — from concept to completion. You are an expert at motion graphics, but are looking to expand upon the medium in other ways. You are excited to work with developers to explore creative solutions for integrating motion into products. You have a strong understanding of other discipline’s needs and timelines, knowing when scaling motion up or down is best for the overall project. You have a strong history of delivering projects on time that exceed the client's expectations. Typically have launched 1+ projects regarded in the industry as best in category. You are always pushing to make the best work, whether it be creating a branded UI motion system, finessing the perfect transition, or exploring the best way to visualize a narrative. You are not scared to try out new technologies and approaches pushing the creative beyond what is asked.

What You Will Do

  • Work on a wide variety of projects, bridging the gap between design and engineering to craft functional and beautiful interactive, animations that enhance the digital products we build
  • Work iteratively on initial concepts and prototypes with product and motion teams
  • Bring an attention to detail and care for design execution, from concept through delivery all while wearing multiple hats
  • Participate in a collaborative, hands-on manner through all project phases
  • Partner with developers to integrate motion into product builds
  • Collaborate and define processes for animators at Work & Co
  • Provide creative direction to disciplines beyond motion
  • Ability to plug in to any type of content project and help lead the process
  • Ballpark time estimates for individual tasks and projects
  • Mentor product and motion designers
  • Help create and refine processes for the best ways to collaborate with other disciplines across the company

We Are Looking For

  • Proven ability to propose creative concepts and to deliver on those ideas through every production phase
  • Impeccable execution and care for all aspects of design, from conceptual thinking to motion and visual design
  • Interest in motion beyond marketing
  • Comfort and confidence in collaborating closely with departments who may be unfamiliar with the motion process, such as product designers, product managers and engineers
  • Enjoys mentoring and educating other disciplines on the fundamentals of motion
  • Experience working alongside design teams creating UI motion in 5+ products that have launched
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and present findings, and articulate design rationale
  • Experience working in a highly iterative, collaborative environment where people share work daily
  • Strong understanding of other disciplines needs and timelines, knowing when scaling motion up or down is best for the overall project.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
