Job Description

As an Expert Sound Designer, you will be an integral part of the team, contributing to the creation of a new AAA aural experience. You will collaborate with passionate audio teams on every aspect of game audio development. Responsibilities include sound effects design, audio-control scripting, asset implementation, mixing & mastering, field recording, 3D audio formats, and collaboration with audio programmers. The role requires technical audio workflows and systems expertise. This is a hybrid position offering a combination of in-studio and remote workdays.
Must have:
  • Expertise in interactive and linear sound effects design.
  • In-depth real-time audio-control scripting.
  • Experience with audio asset implementation.
  • Proficiency in mixing and mastering audio.
  • Knowledge of 3d/spatial audio formats.
Good to have:
  • Game development accomplishments outside of audio.
  • Experience with scripting and/or programming.
  • Field recording, music composition or mixing experience.
  • FPS/Multi-player experience a plus.
  • Experience with Radiant game development software.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced Expert Sound Designer to help create a fresh new AAA aural experience for our next project. You will be involved in virtually every aspect of game audio content development alongside one of the most passionate and experienced audio teams in the industry.

Please Note: This is a hybrid position based in our Guildford Studio, offering flexibility with a combination of in-studio and remote workdays. Permanent remote work is not available for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Expert in interactive and linear sound effects design. 

  • In-depth real-time audio-control scripting. 

  • Audio asset implementation. 

  • Mixing & mastering. 

  • Field recording. 

  • Proficiency in authoring 3d/spatial audio formats. 

  • Collaborate with audio programmers and other sound designers to develop audio systems based on creative vision and gameplay needs. 

  • Apply studio and departmental best practices of technical audio workflows and systems. 

  • ·Audio tools & run-time systems design collaboration.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated creative and technical achievements in sound design. 

  • Fluency in game audio implementation systems. 

  • Knowledge of immersive audio formats such as Ambisonics. 

  • Experience in game audio scripting or other relevant programming environments. 

  • Understanding of PS5, XBox Series X, and PC audio functionality, capabilities, and limitations. 

  • Experience with major digital audio workstations, and power-user of at least one. 

  • Solid understanding of technical audio theory and audio engineering. 

  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Exceptional organization skills. 

  • College degree preferred. 

  • Continuing Education Certificate, Professional or advanced degree in audio engineering, music, or similar preferred.

Bonus Points:

  • Game development accomplishments outside of audio.

  • Experienced with scripting and/or programming.

  • Field recording, music composition or mixing experience.

  • FPS/Multi-player experience a plus. 

  • Experience with Radiant game development software a plus
