The Senior Audio Designer will create immersive sound effects and audio landscapes, utilizing game engines and audio middleware. Responsibilities include collaborating with design teams, quality assurance, technical support, cross-departmental communication, mentoring junior team members, and maintaining documentation. The role requires an understanding of the entire audio process and problem-solving skills. Experience with RPGs, open-world, and multiplayer games is a plus.
Must have:
  • Create high-quality sound effects for games.
  • Utilize game engines and audio middleware.
  • Collaborate with game design teams.
  • Provide technical support for audio-related issues.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Maintain clear documentation of processes.
Good to have:
  • Experience with Unreal Engine and visual scripting.
  • Familiarity with audio middleware like Wwise or FMod.
  • Handle the entire audio implementation process.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical audio issues.
  • Good organizational skills and a good communicator.

Job Details

We're looking for an experienced Senior Audio Designer to join this team in creating a new experience for RPG players. The company is working to deliver a unique first title which combines influences from multiple games.
 
 
Role responsibilities:
  • Audio Design Development: Create immersive and high-quality sound effects and audio landscapes for our games. This includes recording, editing, and processing sound to meet the creative and technical standards of the projects.
  • Audio Tool Utilization: Use game engines, audio middleware, and other tools effectively for audio development.
  • Collaboration with Design Teams: Work closely with game design teams to ensure audio complements and enhances the game experience.
  • Quality Assurance: Regularly test and refine audio elements to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Technical Support: Offer technical support for audio-related issues during game development.
  • Cross-Departmental Communication: Communicate effectively with different departments to ensure consistency and cohesiveness of audio elements in the game.
  • Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior audio team members.
  • Project Documentation: Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of audio development processes and decisions.
     
 Desirable skills and knowledge:
  • Minimum 5 Years of Relevant Experience: Proven track record in audio design, specifically in the gaming industry.
  • Proficiency in Modern Game Engines: Strong skills in using game engines like Unreal Engine and experience with node-based visual scripting e.g. Unreal Blueprints or similar
  • Familiarity with Audio Middleware: Knowledge of audio middleware tools such as Wwise or FMod.
  • End-to-End Audio Implementation: Capable of handling the entire audio process from recording or sourcing to implementation in the game.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Able to troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to audio in games.
  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Very good organizational skills
  • Good communicator
  • Enjoys playing RPGs, open-world games, and multiplayer games
