Overview
The FME Analyst role automates data transformation using FME workbenches and Python scripts. You will troubleshoot data errors, ensure data quality, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Configure FME workbenches to automate spatial and non-spatial data transformation tasks.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts to enhance FME workflows and functionalities.
- Review and troubleshoot FME errors, identifying and correcting data quality issues.
- Perform thorough Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) checks on transformed data.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand data requirements and develop efficient data processing solutions.
- Document FME workbenches and scripts for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in FME and geospatial technologies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with FME in creating and maintaining workbenches.
- Proven ability to write Python scripts to automate and customize FME workflows.
- Strong understanding of spatial data formats (e.g., shapefiles, geodatabases, rasters) and non-spatial data sources (e.g., spreadsheets, databases).
- Experience with data validation techniques and quality control procedures.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Understanding and working knowledge of GE Smallworld is an advantage.
