Summary

This full-time or part-time Food Handler position at Walt Disney World involves supporting back-of-house (BOH) kitchen and dock operations. Job Summary:

Do you have strong organizational skills and a passion for Food and Beverage? We are looking for Food Handler Cast Members who are passionate about the behind-the-scenes magic, ensuring we receive the highest quality food products for our guests! As Food Handlers, we work in our Back-of-house (BOH) kitchens and back dock areas supporting the operations by inspecting and receiving deliveries from our vendors and warehouses.

The pay rate for this role in Florida is $17.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

  • Food Safety & Sanitation: Maintain the highest sanitation standards by cleaning freezers, coolers, walk-ins, storerooms, and back dock areas. Uphold food safety practices, ensuring all areas meet our strict sanitation guidelines.
  • Receiving & Inventory Management: Assist with the unloading and verification of deliveries, including raw and finished products (e.g., meats, dairy, alcohol, dry goods). Ensure accurate temperature checks and document all deliveries. Work closely with the Inventory Control Clerk and leaders to rotate products using FIFO (First In, First Out) techniques.
  • Product Handling: Manage a wide variety of products, including food, beer, wine, liquor, liqueurs, and chemicals. Ensure safe handling and storage in compliance with safety standards.
  • Physical Inventory & Tracking: Help take physical inventories of food and supplies on a monthly basis, and assist with inventory tracking through our software system.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate a pallet jack, forklift, and other necessary equipment to move products to and from different locations within the resort and park. Training will be provided.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Use a smartphone device or radio to communicate effectively with other Cast Members and keep the operation running smoothly.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all health, safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, including the use of face shields, goggles, and sanitizers when necessary.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid Driver's License: Required to safely operate a van or box truck for transporting goods, as well as pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift products over 60 lbs., stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, and work in varying hot and cold environments both indoors and outdoors.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to ensure effective collaboration with the team.
  • Team-Oriented: Ability to work well in a team and assist with various tasks as needed.
  • Food & Beverage Experience: Has worked in a Food & Beverage role within the last 2 years and is familiar with food safety practices and identifying various food products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a food handling, warehouse, or logistics role.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

SCHEDULE AVAILABILTY
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am.
