This part-time, on-call, fully remote L1 Cloud Associate role requires 24/7 availability for incident management within our Managed Service Operations (MSO). Responsibilities include responding to alerts and customer requests, triaging incidents, escalating complex issues, providing updates, logging activities, and adhering to defined processes. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with AWS fundamentals (EC2, S3, IAM, security best practices), monitoring and observability tools (PagerDuty, Grafana, CloudWatch), and Kubernetes. Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills, along with effective communication are essential. This role offers hands-on cloud experience, collaboration with experienced engineers, and continuous learning opportunities across diverse customer environments.

Are you an IT enthusiast looking for a flexible, part-time opportunity that fits around your schedule? Our team is seeking an L1 Cloud Associate to help provide 24/7 coverage for incident management as part of our flagship Managed Service Operations (MSO). This role is perfect for IT practitioners or interns or anyone looking for additional challenge—and it’s designed to grow your cloud skills while offering variety and hands-on experience.

Location 🌍 Remote position open to candidates all around the world.

Contract Type ✍️ This position requires contractor status. You must have the appropriate legal setup (e.g., a business license or equivalent) that allows you to invoice us for your services.

 

What Will You Do? 🔧

  • Remain ready and available to respond to phone calls, alerts, and customer requests during assigned shifts.
  • Maintain service-level agreements (SLAs) by swiftly acknowledging alerts and gathering initial incident data.
  • Triage and prioritize incidents based on severity.
  • Escalate complex issues to the core team or next-level support when necessary
  • Provide timely updates and essential monitoring information (from PagerDuty, Grafana, CloudWatch, etc.) to customers and team members.
  • Log all activities accurately to ensure transparency and facilitate knowledge sharing.
  • Follow defined processes and frameworks to maintain operational consistency.

What You Bring 🎯

  • Familiarity with AWS fundamentals (e.g., EC2, S3, IAM, security best practices)
  • Understanding of monitoring and observability (metrics, logs, traces) using PagerDuty, Grafana, and CloudWatch
  • Experience with Kubernetes (basic cluster operations, Pods, Deployments)
  • Strong incident management and troubleshooting skills (prioritizing alerts, meeting SLAs)
  • Effective communication in real-time (Slack) with both customers and internal teams
  • Adaptability to work across multiple (10+) unique customer environments
  • Contractor Requirement: Must have the legal setup to invoice for your services
