We are Spliced Inc. and we’re looking for a Lead Systems Design Engineer.
The Role:
Leading one of Spliced’s systems teams, you will play a critical role in designing, leading and implementing the robust and compelling player-facing systems that will help redefine what a game is and how players interact with it.
Key Responsibilities:
- As part of the Design department, lead a small Systems team using C++, scripting and Unreal Engine Blueprints to develop robust and compelling player-facing systems and activities, taking them from prototypes to a polished, shippable state.
- Take ownership of implementing a selection of these gameplay elements all the way through from inception and prototyping to release. Proactively identify and fix issues in your own work, in addition to fixing bugs identified by other developers / QA.
- Ensure the quality of all the systems and content being developed by your team, with regular group plays and one-to-ones with team members, and providing constructive and detailed feedback.
- Maintain a strong and up-to-date knowledge of the processes and patterns your team are using and provide an example of the quality and pace of work everyone should be aiming for.
- Organize and assist in the creation of design documentation for the work your team will work on, ensuring that it is detailed and accurate, and that your experience suggests that the proposed game elements will be robust, fun and compelling for the player.
About You:
- Experience shipping a professional game title in a Principal or Lead role.
- Demonstrable professional programming or scripting experience on multi-discipline teams.
- Strong interpersonal skills: the abilities to communicate positively and effectively, mentor and serve as an example to other developers, proactively seeks and acts on feedback from peers.
- Proven ability to lead a team, communicate and organize effectively with other departments and act as a point person for assigned game areas.
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience working with Unreal Engine 4+.
- Experience shipping a AAA game title
