As an LLM Global Data - LLM Reasoning & Knowledge Trainer at ByteDance, you'll be a core member of the LLM Global Data Team, gaining hands-on experience in training Large Language Models (LLMs). The role involves data production (drafting, revising, quality-checking), developing specialized skills in data and content domains (language, reasoning, safety, SFT/RM), delivering high-quality annotation, providing mentorship, and creating annotation guidelines. You'll work in a fast-paced project-based environment, requiring excellent English proficiency and strong writing skills. A background in mathematics, statistics, or a related field is preferred, along with experience in teaching, academic writing, or technical editing. The role involves a paper test before interviews.

Responsibilities

About the team As a core member of our LLM Global Data Team, you'll be at the heart of our operations. Gain first-hand experience in understanding the intricacies of training Large Language Models (LLMs) with diverse data sets. Through our carefully designed rotation program, you'll witness how high-quality data is meticulously crafted and used. After completing your rotation, you will have the chance to select your area of expertise. Your Role Will Involve: 1. Gaining direct experience in data production, including drafting, revising, and quality-checking, to understand the synergy between humans and data in LLM training. 2. Developing specialized skills in one of our data and content domains (including but not limited to language, reasoning and safety * SFT/RM). 3. Delivering high-quality annotation independently with limited supervision. 4. Checking annotation quality and providing mentorship and guidance to internal colleagues and external partners on specific topics following successful incubation. 5. Drafting and managing annotation guidelines and casebooks for specific annotation projects and tasks.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's or higher degree, preferably in Mathematics, Statistics or a related field. 2. Excellent proficiency in English with outstanding writing and critique skills. 3. Comfortable working in a project-based fast-paced environment, where quality standards iterate quickly with research and experiment progress. Preferred Qualifications: 1. At least 2 years of experience in teaching mathematics or quantitative reasoning, academic writing or technical editing, publishing in technical domains, prior work as an RLHF annotator or contributor to AI/LLM content 2. Experience in using structured writing tools for math and technical documentation 3. Candidates should be self-driven, intelligent, diligent, and skilled in providing mentorship and guidance to more new members of the team. 4. A deep interest in LLMs, human behavior and user experience is essential. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic learner who finds engagement with diverse case studies and annotators stimulating. Note: This role requires a paper test prior to interviews.
