Manager, Graphics Engineering - SRP Features

The opportunity

The SRP (Scriptable Render Pipeline) Features team is looking for an accomplished engineering manager. We are a graphics engineering team within Unity working on delivering the best graphics features experience for users. Our mission is to empower creators to produce outstanding graphics in their applications.

As a manager you will lead a talented team of engineers, working to define and influence processes that ensure they are able to perform at their best and achieve their goals. You will collaborate with the Technical Leads, Graphics Architect, and Product Manager to drive technical initiatives for the team.

As a line manager, you will provide mentorship for your engineers and support them in their professional development, and be responsible for hiring.

With a focus on people, operational management, and delivery of outcomes, this role does not require hands-on-coding. However, a strong technical understanding of the domain is desirable. This is an opportunity to work with a highly motivated team of skilled engineers who are pushing forward the graphics capabilities of the Unity Editor and Engine.

What you'll be doing

• Lead a team of 7-10 engineers, providing support and coaching through regular 1:1s

• Ensure the day-to-day operations of the team run efficiently

• Establish a culture of engineering excellence within your team, with a focus on delivering outcomes that have the highest impact

• Take accountability for the delivery outcomes of your team and for individual engineer performance and growth

• Take an active part in discussions with the wider engineering organization and become an agent of change

What we're looking for

• Experience leading small to medium sized teams working with large, sophisticated codebases

• Delivery experience and ability to guide a team to achieve its goals

• Ability to support and mentor team members, building relationships of trust by example

• Strong collaborative leadership and interpersonal skills

• Ability to nurture alignment between team members and partners in a distributed work environment using agile processes

You might also have

• Hands-on experience working with Unity

• Previous experience working in a technical role

• Knowledge of modern mobile GPU architectures
