Job Description

As a Partner Engineer, Infrastructure Modernization at Google Cloud, you'll work with leading companies to facilitate their transition to Google Cloud. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, resolving technical blockers, providing in-depth expertise in enterprise infrastructure modernization, supporting bid responses, creating proof-of-concept work, and partnering with product management. You will directly engage with Google Cloud products, guide customers through legacy application assessments, recommend modernization roadmaps, and propose integration strategies and architectures for successful implementation on Google Cloud. You'll also liaise with sales teams, product marketing, and engineering to ensure customer success and product enhancement. This role requires strong customer relationship skills, expertise in cloud native architecture, and a deep understanding of infrastructure modernization techniques.
Must have:
  • 6+ years cloud native architecture experience
  • Cloud infrastructure engineering expertise
  • Experience with virtualization/containerization
  • Application migration to cloud platforms
  • Networking and security concepts knowledge
  • Customer relationship building and technical problem-solving
Good to have:
  • Experience with software-defined networking
  • Public sector support experience
  • Proficiency in encryption, identity management, and access control
  • Penetration testing experience

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, on-premise infrastructure engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in migrating applications and services to cloud platforms.
  • Experience in networking concepts such as software-defined networking, routing, virtual private networks, load balancers and firewalls.
  • Experience in security concepts such as encryption, identity management, access control, attack vectors, and pen testing.
  • Experience prospecting, and building and maintaining customer relationships from scratch, with excitement for building greenfield territories in enterprise accounts.
  • Experience in supporting Public Sector.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth enterprise infrastructure modernization proficiency to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Work directly with Google Cloud products to demonstrate and prototype integrations in customer and partner environments.
  • Guide customers through assessments of existing legacy application environment and provide recommendations on a prioritization roadmap for infrastruction and application modernization.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution on Google Cloud.
