Position Summary:

Working within Creative Services CoE (GCO), Budapest Post Production hub, the Promo Mastering Supervisor is primarily responsible for supervising the Promo Mastering Editing team, alongside editing and packaging marketing campaigns across 20+ languages, covering MAX & HBO Max streaming, all online and social communication platforms, Owned and Operated linear channels including HBO and Cinemax. From a supervisory perspective, this role requires organizational, people management and training skills. The hands-on packaging work requires advanced GFX and editing skills using Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects (and where necessary) Avid Media Composer. Solid understanding and experience of broadcast and technical Post Production workflows are an essential requirement. A minimum of 5 years experience is typical for this role.

The Promo Mastering Supervisor will support the AV Versioning Lead in providing high levels of customer services to the pan EMEA region and the associated streaming platforms and other internal clients and stakeholders as required. The Promo Mastering Supervisor will be required to highlight any known issues in the Promo Mastering team or workflow to the AV Versioning Lead and provide regular updates on the status of the work that is being undertaken by their team. The Promo Mastering Supervisor will work collaboratively with the Post Resource Supervisor to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of the mastering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervisory:

  • Day-to-day supervision of the Promo Mastering team.
  • Ensure standards of performance and quality of work are being adhered to across the Promo Mastering team.
  • Provide administrative supervision for the Promo Mastering team, including setting Goals, ensuring holiday and absence cover is in place and that workloads are being monitored, etc.
  • Ensure company and departmental operational and P&C procedures are being followed by the Promo Mastering team.
  • Monitor performance across the Promo Mastering team, including identifying areas of training or mentoring that may be required. Work with the AV Versioning Lead and Post Resource Supervisor, Post Engineering team (as req.d) to address any technical issues.
  • Work with the AV Versioning Lead to identify areas where workflows can be improved and/or made more efficient.
  • Escalate issues within the Promo Mastering team or workflow to the AV Versioning Lead as required.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of the Promo Mastering teams’ work to the AV Versioning Lead, Post Resource Supervisor and any other relevant Post Production personnel as req’d.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and package content according to WBD tech specs, network style guides and makelists using Adobe Premiere , Adobe After Effects and Avid where necessary.
  • Ensure that all aspects of compliance Codes of Practice relating to the platform/channels and broadcast are observed.
  • Take responsibility for any assigned feeds and campaigns, managing your schedule and workload to meet any specified deadlines, and update status in tracking systems.
  • Engage with the relevant regional Promo teams to maintain the look and feel of the WBD brands and provide timely completion of all campaigns.
  • Receive, check, and utilize assets of various kinds for edit and packaging work, communicating any issues or missing materials promptly to Post Resource Supervisor, AV Versioning Lead, orchestration team or stakeholders, as req’d.
  • Source and restore master assets (long and short form) or existing promos from storage, media asset managements systems or archive
  • Use, adapt and create toolkits and projects in Adobe After Effects.
  • Create and incorporate Additional GFX elements into existing After Effects templates
  • Where needed, create and compile all picture and audio elements for Audio mixing and provide them to the relevant Audio Engineer/Vendor.
  • Where needed, create and compile all picture elements for Colour Grading and provide them to the relevant Colourist/vendor (if req’d).
  • Take delivery of finished audio sessions and incorporate supplied audio mixes and stems into the project that is being worked on.
  • Create branded templates for various outputs as per communication platform portfolio
  • Deliver Work in Progress and Finished content via the standard WBD approval and content supply chains and provide ad hoc media and material delivery as required outside of those established supply chains.
  • Use Media content management & broadcast database systems accordingly to collect or deliver master assets & data
  • Video file encoding/transcoding as per required unique tech spec or delivery standards set for each output variations
  • Update any department scheduling or task/time-tracking tools as necessary to ensure accurate metrics can be reported.
  • Report any technical problems to the Post Production Engineering team and feed back any issues to the AV Versioning Lead and/or Post Resource Supervisor.
  • Maintain QC standards of newly created materials.
  • Maintain an impeccable attention to detail throughout the promo packaging process.
  • Thoroughly carry out metadata entry tasks.
  • Methodically and diligently work through production schedules.
  • Ensure all company and departmental operational procedures are followed.
  • Daily use of agreed communication channels within the team and within the wider organization
  • Prioritize and deal with queries as quickly and efficiently as possible using any authorized WBD communication systems.
  • Analyze the current workflow and propose/report anything that can be improved
  • Keep asset archive up-to-date
  • Ad hoc duties are required
  • You may be required to work shifts (days, nights and weekends shifts)
  • Source file restore, promo restore
  • Create and incorporate Additional GFX elements

Requirements:

  • Impeccable organizational skills.

  • Good understanding of compliance regulatory codes of practice across EMEA.
  • Excellent attention to detail in all communication, documentation and metadata.
  • Ability to detect and identify standard video and audio faults.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair erroneous content.
  • Understanding of the AVID Interplay / Nexis server is a plus.
  • Ability to coordinate, prioritize and edit in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to manage own schedule and priorities, making the most efficient use of time.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Technical training and and (at least) 5 year's experience in a recognized creative agency, promo team, post facility or media-based organization.
  • Advanced knowledge of file-based workflows and broadcast technology.
  • Good operational knowledge of editing working within a team environment.
  • Excellent understanding of video and audio theory.
  • Intermediate English language skills (verbal and written).
  • Additional language skills are beneficial.
  • Passionate about media content and media industry
