Job Description

As a Quality Engineer at AriensCo, you will play a crucial role in ensuring top-notch quality in manufacturing processes and products. You will collaborate with customers and engineering personnel to determine critical part features, review manufacturability, and make recommendations to support cost-effective production. You will also provide quality engineering support to operations, resolve quality issues, and drive continuous improvement. This role involves communicating commitment to quality, analyzing process studies, and participating in product quality planning activities. The responsibilities also include facilitating problem-solving techniques, driving continuous improvement, and managing the Quality team's performance. The candidate will be accountable for defining and resolving problems, collecting data, and drawing valid conclusions, interpreting technical instructions and dealing with abstract and concrete variables.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a Quality role
  • Technical knowledge of steel fabrication/assembly processes
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude
Good to have:
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g. TS 16949, ISO)
  • Experience in creating Control Plans and FMEA records
  • Understanding of the value of process auditing

Job Description:

Are you passionate about ensuring top-notch quality in manufacturing processes and products? As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the integrity of our manufacturing environment.

THE DAY TO DAY...

  • Collaborate with internal and external customers’ quality and engineering personnel to determine critical part features and review manufacturability of design. Make recommendations to modify customer part specifications and tolerances as necessary to support cost effective production

  • Provide Quality Engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques

  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources

  • Effectively communicate and reinforce company commitment to quality improvement efforts

  • Determine when process capability studies should be performed on existing processes. Review and analyze results. Recommend changes to processes based upon findings and perform follow up to verify effectiveness

  • Participate and coordinate with other department (i.e.: Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Tooling, Operations, etc.) product Quality planning activities to determine appropriate use of existing and new products and processes 

  • Facilitate and promote use of appropriate problem solving techniques for effective root cause analysis and successful corrective action

  • Drive continuous improvement and elimination of waste using KPI metrics

  • Responsible and accountable to the performance of the Quality team/group

  • Ability to define and help resolve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables

THE QUALIFICATIONS...

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Operations and/or Technical discipline required

  • A minimum of 2 years experience within a Quality role required

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer preferred

  • Prior experience with certified quality management system (e.g. TS 16949, ISO)

  • Technical knowledge of steel fabrication and assembly processes

  • Capable of reviewing, understanding and critiquing Engineering drawings

  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude

  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment

  • Firsthand experience in the creation of Control Plans and FMEA records

  • Solid understanding of the value of process auditing
