The Regulatory Affairs Manager will be responsible for managing relationships with international regulators, coordinating with industry bodies and competitors, and contributing to the company's regulatory strategy. Key responsibilities include responding to regulatory consultations, advising on political and regulatory developments in various markets (both licensed and unlicensed), conducting regulatory assessments for market expansion, reporting to C-level management, and managing internal communications. The role requires collaboration with various departments, including legal, compliance, and business development. The successful candidate will have a master's degree in a relevant field (legal background preferred), at least 3 years of relevant experience, and a strong understanding of policy implementation and government relations.

ABOUT THE ROLE               
LeoVegas Group, with the backing of MGM Resorts International is in an ongoing process of increasing regulatory posture in order to secure our growth, manage relations with international regulators, continually comply with our gaming licences, proactively manage and mitigate risk, and ensure reports related to risk are shared in a standard and timely manner with MGM Resorts International. 
We therefore have an amazing opportunity for a regulatory and policy professional, who will join an active and developing department, to sit within and work alongside LeoVegas’ wider Legal and Compliance department.  The role will report directly to the Director of Policy & Regulatory Affairs and will involve liaison with international regulators and MGM Resorts International. You will play a key role in the ongoing expansion of LeoVegas and the development of its regulatory posture in the many markets in which the Group is active.


YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:       

  • As a member of a team of regulatory professionals, you will be assigned the task of managing relations with regulators alongside the LeoVegas compliance department. You will be responsible for managing responses to regulatory consultations and relations with regulators (outside of the day-to-day management of such relations by compliance on LeoVegas Group live licences), coordinating relations with industry trade bodies, aligning with suitable competitors, co-ordinating lobby efforts, and assisting the Director in providing clear and cohesive reporting of such activities to LeoVegas C level;
  • Take ownership of an assigned number of countries in which LeoVegas is already licensed, and related trade associations, and keep abreast of any and all political and regulatory developments, whilst retaining a solid foundation of knowledge on LeoVegas’s commercial operations and the countries’ regulatory frameworks, in order to identify and advise on areas of interest or concern.
  • Also take ownership of a number of unregulated markets to conduct the same ongoing analysis, as well as coordinating with compliance to ensure adherence to the laws of the relevant licence as well as the country of consumption.
  • Drive the regulatory assessment of potential expansion markets, working hand in hand with the Business Development team and other teams with the Legal and Compliance function.
  • Work pragmatically and ensure easy reporting to C level management (as well as any other committee or Board required by the Group from time to time) on Regulatory Affairs matters.
  • Work closely with other stakeholders including legal, technical compliance, compliance, and other business stakeholders to establish a clear information flow on Policy and Regulatory matters.
  • Manage (alongside the communications office and other key stakeholders) all internal communications around regulatory affairs matters.
  • Manage relations with like-minded competitors on regulatory matters.
  • Lead regulatory risk processes with senior management for the identification of key risks, and ensure that appropriate mitigation programmes are provided and overseen to completion.

OUR SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Essential skills:
 
  

  • A masters degree level qualification in a relevant field.  Lawyers qualified in the laws of one or more European Union Member States will be given preference.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous experience in a similar role (or roles) or a senior role at a relevant regulator or regulatory body.
  • Evidential experience of working closely with policy implementation, government relations, lobby efforts and consultation responses.
