As a Senior Economy Designer for Angry Birds Dream Blast, you will design, manage and optimise a free-to-play game economy, partnering closely with live ops, analysts and designers to find a balance between delivering amazing player experiences and maximising business success of the game.

You will utilise quantitative and qualitative player data and your in-depth understanding of the game to monitor the overall health of the economy, tune new and existing systems, and inform live ops and product management. Your insights will also aid in  new designs to ensure the game’s longevity and to maximise player engagement, retention and monetization

You will have impact and fun at work by doing:

    • Own the game economy of virtual currencies and items, and determine systems where sources or sinks can be tuned to improve game performance.
    • Develop, model and simulate game economy and LiveOps that accounts for both player motivations and expectations as well as game's business goals.
    • Develop a deep understanding of player progression and predict the results of economy changes and new content. Monitor economic KPIs and player balances for player segments to ensure the overall health of the game’s economy.
    • Support the day-to-day execution of the game’s monetisation strategy and overall success of in-game sales, offers, and live events.
    • Support defining the roadmap of features and tools needed to grow, innovate and improve LiveOps of the game, and coordinate their development with relevant stakeholders.
    • Together with Analysts, conduct quantitative analysis to provide key insights into product performance and find opportunities for further engagement, retention and monetization. In a similar manner, collaborate with UXR to get qualitative insights.
    • Support PM in conducting A/B and multivariate tests to optimise game retention, engagement and monetization metrics to deliver a great player experience, while maintaining a healthy balance in the game economy.
    • Collaborate with the game designers and key stakeholders to level up our understanding of the value and impact of economic changes across player segments and identify areas for improvement to maximise player fun, engagement, retention, and monetization.
    • Bring to the team an understanding of best-in-class economy and feature design, F2P LiveOps activities and monetization mechanics
    • Create and maintain documentation related to the game economy, making it accessible and readable for the rest of the team where appropriate.

Experience and skills we are looking for:

    • Extensive experience in game design, game systems, and balancing game economies in a live free-to-play mobile game in a systems/economy design or product management role.
    • Experienced in big data science and using quantitative research tools and methods.
    • Demonstrated track record and experience in running and growing a live free-to-play game.
    • Deep understanding of economy and monetization design, as well as of engagement drivers in live games.
    • Holistic understanding of how the interaction of game systems and currencies affects the experience of the game and on the game’s financial performance.
    • Well-founded product judgement, ability to support LiveOps strategy and present clear, measurable key results that will lead to achieving business goals
    • Hands-on approach and impact-driven focus on constantly pushing game performance and delivering fantastic player experiences
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an emphasis on metrics-driven decision making
    • Able to work closely with a cross discipline game team including game Designers, LiveOps managers, Product Managers, Data Analysts and Developers.
    • Deep knowledge of LiveOps and monetization trends within the current markets and  free-to-play business model.
