  • Act as single point of contact to Client’s Site Manager and Contractor’s Site Manager.
  • Review Contractor’s Project Management Documentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to project procedures, technical and administrative.
  • Manage and coordinate AFRY’s site team and activities.
  • Monitor progress and address issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with Health and Safety Manager for a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all site personnel follow safety protocols.
  • Strive for high level of safety awareness on Site.
  • Ensure EPC contractor adheres to contract terms and conditions.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures.
  • Evaluate site progress, including reviewing payments, change orders, and claims.
  • Participate in Management Review meetings and periodical AUDITS.
  • Organize and lead daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
  • Prepare relevant minutes of meeting or reports.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards.
  • Ensure project complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee all aspects of project closeout.
  • Ensure documentation, punch list items, as-built documents, and final inspections are completed.
  • Facilitate smooth handover of the project to the owner.

Job Description

The Site Manager in an Owner's Engineer assignment is instrumental in ensuring the successful execution of AFRY’s services. Their primary purpose is to manage the day-to-day operations on the project site, monitor progress, and collaborate with the EPC contractor to deliver a successful project outcome.

Responsibilities/Duties (inclusive of but not limited to):

  • Take overall responsibility for the successful execution of the site supervision works. Ensure that project objectives, timelines, and quality standards are met.
  • Receive and implement instructions and cooperate in all activities with AFRY teams in accordance with the instructions of the Project Manager and AFRY Home Office. Be single point of contact for the site activities to the Project Manager and to the Engineering Manager for support.
  • Be single point of contact to Client’s Site Manager and Contractor’s Site Manager
  • Review the Contractor’s Project Management Documentation, such as Project Progress Measurement Procedure, Contractor’s Work and Quality Control Procedures, Master Time Schedule.
  • Ensure strict adherence of the project procedures, technical and administrative, issued by the Home Office and the Project Manager. In case of difficulties in application of such instructions, the Project Manager shall be consulted before any other actions are being taken.
  • Manage and coordinate AFRY’s site team and site activities, during the construction, installation, testing and commissioning phases. Monitor progress and address any issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Health and Safety Manager to maintain a safe working environment. Ensure that all site personnel follow safety protocols, and that safety performance meets or exceeds established benchmarks.
  • Strive for high level of safety awareness on Site and suggest supportive campaigns to Client and Contractor
  • Ensure that the EPC contractor adheres to the terms and conditions of the contract, including project specifications, scope, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project budgets and expenditures. Evaluate the site progress, including reviewing progress payments, change orders, and claims.
  • Participate in Management Review meeting and overlook periodical AUDITS (as per ISO 9001: 2008) on Site.
  • Organize and lead daily, weekly and monthly meeting and prepare the relevant minutes of meeting or reports.
  • Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards, ensure that the project complies with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee all aspects of project closeout, ensuring that all documentation, punch list items, as-built documents and final inspections are completed satisfactorily. Facilitate the smooth handover of the project to the owner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience as site manager in large-scale construction projects, particular in the energy or power industry, with a preference for experience in Independent Power Producers (IPPs) projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, including expertise in Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).
  • In-depth knowledge of local, and international design codes and standards.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
