This role involves collaborating with partner teams to integrate new features into the Pixel Camera's video capture pipeline. You'll design and implement the architectural infrastructure supporting efficient debugging and iteration of video features. Responsibilities include maintaining and improving the codebase, optimizing the video capture pipeline for latency, power consumption, and memory usage. The ideal candidate possesses experience in Android app development (Kotlin preferred), camera technology, and performance optimization. The work contributes directly to the next generation of Pixel devices, showcased at Google I/O and Pixel launch events. The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) and at least one year of software development experience (Java or Kotlin).

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Java or Kotlin), or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with an emphasis on computer architecture.
  • Experience in projects involving performance optimizations, such as power, latency, and memory enhancements.
  • Experience working with UX designers and researchers.
  • Experience with development in Kotlin.
  • Knowledge of camera technology and experience developing Android apps.
