Google Search is reimagining information search. As a Software Engineer III, Machine Learning, Search, you'll contribute to this effort by writing and reviewing code, participating in design reviews, and resolving system issues. You'll work on projects critical to Google's needs, enhancing software solutions and maintaining accessibility. Responsibilities include developing and deploying code, contributing to documentation, and collaborating with stakeholders. This role requires expertise in machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), and experience with data structures and algorithms. You will manage project priorities, deadlines and deliverables. This position offers the opportunity to impact billions of users globally.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years software development experience
  • 2 years experience with data structures/algorithms
  • Code development, review & debugging
  • Project management & collaboration
Good to have:
  • Master's/PhD in CS or related field
  • Experience with ML algorithms (TensorFlow)
  • Experience with AI, deep learning, NLP
  • Experience developing accessible technologies

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
  • 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms in either an academic or industry setting.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 2 years of experience with machine learning algorithms and tools (e.g., TensorFlow), artificial intelligence, deep learning and/or natural language processing.
  • Experience developing accessible technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Write product or system development code.
  • Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
  • Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
  • Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
