As a Staff Software Engineer on the Cloud Bigtable team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining Google's highly scalable, distributed database service. You will collaborate with a team of engineers to design, implement, and test new features, while ensuring the stability and performance of the existing system. Your responsibilities will include: * Contributing to the design and implementation of new features and enhancements to Cloud Bigtable * Debugging and resolving complex issues in the Cloud Bigtable system * Writing high-quality, maintainable code * Working closely with other engineers on the team to ensure smooth collaboration and code reviews * Participating in the planning and execution of product releases * Staying up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the database space This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to work on a highly impactful product that powers many of Google's services and applications. Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 8 years of experience in software development
  • Experience with data structures and algorithms
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture
  • Experience with testing and launching software products
Good to have:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization

Minimum qualifications:
