Summary

This Staff Software Engineer role at Google focuses on improving the Discover experience on Chrome mobile. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining software solutions for one of the world's largest recommendation systems. Responsibilities include defining product features, architecture design, and content strategy, from prototype to launch and scaling. You'll also contribute to a high-performing engineering culture and lead project teams, setting technical direction. The role requires strong experience in software development, data structures/algorithms, design/architecture, and testing/launching software products. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in an organization involving cross-functional or cross-business projects.
