System Performance and Architecture Engineer, Silicon
Job Summary
Job Description
This role involves developing custom silicon solutions for Google's consumer products. Responsibilities include modeling, analyzing, and projecting power and performance of compute-centric hardware IP blocks (GPUs, TPUs, ISPs) on mobile SoCs. The engineer will study workload behavior, identify bottlenecks, and propose hardware and software co-optimization improvements. This requires experience in computer or chip architecture, performance analysis, and software development for Compute IPs. The ideal candidate possesses expertise in performance and power optimization, and knowledge of GPU, TPU, or ISP hardware architecture. The position is based in New Taipei City, Taiwan.
Must have:
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- 3+ years experience in computer/chip architecture
- Experience with computer architecture, TPU/GPU
- Workload performance analysis expertise
- Develop models & analyze power/performance
- Identify bottlenecks & propose improvements
Good to have:
- Master's/PhD in CS/EE
- C/C++ or Python programming
- Performance & power optimization experience
- GPU, TPU, or ISP hardware architecture knowledge
- GPU vector program optimization
- Generative AI model architecture knowledge

Job Details
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in computer or chip architecture, performance, or software development for Compute Internet Protocol (IPs).
- Experience with computer architecture, TPU/GPU architecture or workload performance analysis.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering.
- Experience with one or more programming languages (e.g., C/C++ or Python).
- Experience in performance and power optimization.
- Knowledge of GPU, TPU or ISP hardware architecture.
- Knowledge of GPU or related vector program optimization or Generative AI model architectures.

- Develop models, analyze and project power and performance of compute-centric hardware IP blocks (e.g., Compute IPs) on a mobile System on a Chip (SoC), including Graphics Processing Unit (GPU), Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) and Internet Service Provider (ISP) pre- and post-Silicon.
- Study the behavior of various computer, gaming and AI workloads executing on the SoC, identify bottlenecks and opportunities for hardware and software co-optimization.
- Propose improvements in the hardware architecture of the Compute IPs or SoC-level with the compiler, runtime or application software.
