Job Description

Virtuos seeks a Senior Technical Artist to optimize asset creation and integration workflows in Unreal Engine, focusing on efficiency and quality. Responsibilities include developing and refining materials and shaders, providing technical support to Art and Tech teams, creating custom tools and scripts (Unreal Engine, 3ds Max, Maya, Photoshop), maintaining documentation, conducting scene profiling and optimization, and researching new art pipeline technologies. The ideal candidate possesses profound knowledge of PBR, lighting, shading, rendering, shader creation, and optimization for real-time engines. Strong scripting skills (Python, MEL, MaxScript) and excellent communication are crucial. Experience with console/mobile game development and Unreal's PCG module is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities: 
 

  • Optimize and streamline asset creation and integration workflows within Unreal Engine, enhancing both efficiency and quality.
  • Lead the development and refinement of materials and shaders specific to our game's unique aesthetic needs.
  • Provide daily support to both Art and Tech teams, acting as a key problem solver for production challenges.
  • Develop custom tools and scripts for 3rd party and in-house software, including Unreal Engine, 3ds Max, Maya, and Photoshop.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation related to art workflows and toolchains.
  • Conduct scene profiling and optimization to ensure smooth gameplay experiences across all target platforms.
  • Research and development of any new trends or tools to enhance the art pipeline

  • 使用不同的商业游戏引擎,如Unreal、Unity等。

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Profound knowledge of PBR, lighting, shading, and rendering techniques.
  • Proficient in shader creation and optimization for real-time game engines.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, MEL, MaxScript, or similar.
  • Ability, interest and willingness to learn.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbally. 
  • Strong problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
  • English language skills are required.
