Job Description

The Commercial Sales Manager at Microsoft leads strategic growth and success with enterprise customers. Responsibilities include building and coaching a high-performing team of Commercial Executives, designing and negotiating complex cloud agreements, collaborating on commercial strategies aligned with customer needs and industry trends, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and sales excellence. The role requires expertise in cloud sales, deal structuring, negotiation, relationship management, and strong leadership and communication skills. The manager ensures customer success by aligning Microsoft solutions with customer goals and delivering long-term value. This is a full-time position in multiple locations across Germany.

The Commercial Manager role within our Enterprise Business is your opportunity to lead from the front, driving strategic growth, innovation, and success with our highly valued enterprise customers.

 

As a Commercial Manager, you will be at the forefront of shaping Microsoft’s commercial strategy, leading a team of highly skilled Commercial Executives (CEs). You’ll drive impact by building and coaching a high-performing team, enabling complex deal design and negotiations, and fostering relationships that maximize value for customers and Microsoft alike.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Professional sales experience, with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • People management experience, with proven success in leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • A proven track record of driving strategic sales growth, developing high-performing teams, and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Expertise in cloud sales, deal structuring, negotiation of strategic deals and relationship management, with a focus on solving complex customer challenges.
  • Strong leadership and coaching abilities, with the ability to foster collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
  • A customer-first mindset, with the passion and capability to build trusted, long-term partnerships.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to distill complex thoughts and strategies into simple, actionable recommendation. 

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and Lead High-Performing Teams: Attract, hire, and develop top-tier talent capable of driving cloud revenue, cloud adoption, and strategic commitments from enterprise customers.
  • Strategic Deal-Making: Guide your team and key stakeholders through the design, negotiation and execution of complex cloud agreements, delivering customer-centric solutions while optimizing Microsoft’s revenue growth.
  • Shape Commercial Strategy: Collaborate with industry and solution leads and field teams to set and execute strategic plans that align with customer needs and industry trends.
  • Develop Sales Excellence: Cultivate a culture of continuous learning by developing your team’s commercial expertise, negotiation skills, and relationship management capabilities.
  • Deliver Customer Success: Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring that Microsoft solutions align with customer goals, drive transformation, and deliver long-term value.
