The counsel will need to build relationships across various levels of the organization and jurisdictions.

Corporate Counsel

We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Corporate Counsel to join our global Corporate Legal team.  You will be responsible for supporting Adyen’s global Corporate Governance strategy as well as driving execution in North America. You will assist the Corporate Governance team on a broad portfolio of topics, including providing strategic advice on corporate law and governance, managing global projects and entities, and drafting resolutions and meeting materials. The Corporate Legal team is centered in Amsterdam and the United States, however as Adyen is a global company with offices, entities, and boards all over the world, you will be required to apply your knowledge globally. You have a passion for our business and you would like to contribute to ensure the further growth of Adyen.

What you will do:

  • Advise on corporate law and governance matters, providing strategic and legal guidance to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and internal policies. 
  • Prepare, organize, and attend local executive committee meetings. You will take minutes, track action items, and follow up with internal stakeholders to ensure timely completion and documentation. 
  • Draft and review resolutions, meeting minutes and materials, and other corporate documents, ensuring they meet legal and governance standards. 
  • Drive strategic governance projects, tracking progress and ensuring alignment with business objectives. 
  • Support the global team in their execution of global corporate governance matters including aiding the Management Board and Supervisory Board, reviewing Adyen’s Annual Report, and managing global entity management matters. 
  • Stay informed of new legislative proposals and other legal and compliance developments relevant to Adyen’s corporate governance across the globe. 

Who you are: 

  • You have 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience from a law firm or the legal department of a financial institution or technology company.
  • You have proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and managing corporate legal documents with precision. You are familiar with corporate housekeeping and governance frameworks.
  • You maintain a high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
  • You are organized, meticulous, and proactive. You are hands-on, take full ownership and accountability for your work and are determined to achieve high-quality results.  
  • You can make decisions quickly and work autonomously, while maintaining excellent and independent judgement. 
  • You are a strong team player who builds effective relationships across all levels of the organization as well as across jurisdictions such as Latin America, Europe, and APAC.
  • You are available to work from our New York office and travel to other offices periodically.
